Hugh Jackman, right, on the Today couch with Richard Wilkins and Lisa Wilkinson.
Could Hugh Jackman be Hollywood's first quadruple threat?
Not content with success as an actor, singer and dancer, Jackman today added morning TV show host to his resume.
The 44-year-old star of the highly anticipated film adaptation of Les Miserables arrived in Australia yesterday. In his first 24 hours back on home soil, Jackman played a round of golf, went for a swim at Bondi beach and had a quiet dinner with his family.
But this morning it was back to work, stepping in as co-host of Nine's Today show.

He seemed at ease on the set, which is not surprising. If you delve deeply into his resume - brushing a few critically acclaimed performances on stage and film out of the way - you'll discover he co-hosted a Foxtel program with fashion journalist Melissa Hoyer early in his career.
The most striking thing about Jackman when you meet him is his easy manner. He's polite without being affected and is considerate and generous in company.
He also seems to exude a rare serenity, particularly when you consider the cyclone of activity around him.
The set of Nine's Today show, for example, rarely sees a crowd. Today more than two dozen people stopped by for a glimpse of the man who has become one of the most successful film and stage actors in the world.
I first met him when he emerged as the star of the ABC's critically acclaimed drama Correlli. In the annals of television history, it may have only been a blip. But for Jackman it still looms large: it was the project where he met the woman who would become his wife, actress Deborra-Lee Furness.
That was 17 years ago. And what defines Jackman, in many ways, is the fact that he is largely unchanged since then. Few, if any, Hollywood actors could say the same thing.
Today co-host Lisa Wilkinson pointed it out to him.
"When it takes so much effort to be someone else as an actor, I don't want to do that in my life," Jackman replied.
The pair had a very natural chemistry together, which would have delighted Nine, though the chances of Jackman abandoning a Hollywood career for morning TV are slim.
Wilkinson asked Jackman about the recent interview with the US 60 Minutes program in which he teared up.
The question about his mother "sidelined" him, he said. "They just asked me a question that took me by surprise."
He also spoke lovingly of his father, Chris, who "rarely gives advice when asked" but expressed great relief when Jackman, embarking on his career almost two decades ago, chose enrolling in the West Australian Academy of the Performing Arts over a guest role in Neighbours.
His parents, he says, are "very proud, very sweet and very supportive."
Jackman is in Sydney to attend Friday night's premiere of Les Miserables at the State Theatre. He will be joined at the premiere by co-star Russell Crowe, director Tom Hooper and the film's executive producer Cameron Mackintosh.
Jackman's wife and his children Oscar and Ava are at home in New York, where Jackman will return at the weekend.
