That segment will be repeated tonight at 7:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) as well. I understand he's the first interviewee on this look at summer movies.

On the set with Hugh Jackman and James MacAvoy -- Hugh, as Wolverine, looks more patrician than James, as young Prof Charles Xavier Jo

Are they rehearsing scenes of the young Prof Xavier and Wolverine together? So, is this a confirmation that Wolverine is doing some major time-travelling here?

Just shows you, you can take the boy out of Glasgow, but you can't take Glasgow out the boy.....James's shorts sport the logos of a Scottish lager and his favourite football (soccer) team!

www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hBqY2NTM_0oPatrick Stewart was in a gathering and he talked about mostly XMEN:DAYS OF FUTURE PAST! What stage presence ( you know instantly that he is also a great stage actor) -- it is kind of hard for me to reconcile how James MacAvoy as the young Charles Xavier will morph into the patrician and charismatic Professor, so well portrayed by Patrick Stewart. *He did mention that Hugh Jackman is in the duration of the shoot ( unlike others who just come and go) -- which seems to indicate that Hugh will play a very major role as Wolverine ( younger and older Wolverine) in the movie? *He is predicting that this will be the XMEN movie of all XMEN movies -- that it is going to be the blockbuster movie of 2014! Jo I agree about James MacAvoy, I like him as an actor but never really got how he could be considered a young Professor X since he's nothing like Patrick Stewart. I've seen a couple of the TV cartoon shows based on that story line and Wolverine does play a large part. They didn't show him being old though. I never got the impression that it was more than 20-30 years or so into the future so that's probably why since he doesn't age much. Glad he's going to be a big part of the movie version. It sounds like it's shaping up to be epic. Sue

I guess the only aging that may be noticeable is in the increasing number of grey strands on his beard XMEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST as a movie project has an unusual gestation. *It started as a potential sequel to FIRST CLASS and was to have been helmed by Matthew Vaughn ( who helmed FIRST CLASS, where Bryan Singer was one of the producers and had written part of the script - he was the first one attached to direct it, but was replaced by Vaughn). *Vaughn bailed out, but if I remember right, the major cast members of FIRST CLASS had already been tapped or attached ( not sure) such as MacAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, etc. *In comes Bryan Singer and it looked like the movie was transformed more as a vehicle that would connect the two timelines...and the use of the comic book storyline of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST became more apparent. *Hugh, it seemed, was not originally envisioned to play a major part...but when Bryan came into the picture -- it seemed he had been shown a 10-page script ( maybe where his major involvement was initially configured) and only then did he start talking to them about the role. *Now it seems that his role may have actually been broadened, if he is part of most of the shoot? *Also, the inclusion of the key players of the first XMEN series is now a major part, too. At least it would be for Ellen Page, who plays Kitty Pryde. I do not know how the roles of the older and the younger Professor Xavier and Magneto will mesh in - I don't remember much of that happening in the comic book series ( I think I need to refresh my memory of the original source material)...nor Rogue or Storm or Beast or Mystique. But it looks like that the older Storm-Halle and the earlier Rogue-Anna will be in the story but the younger Beast-Hoult and the younger Mystique-Lawrence will be the ones to feature in the movie. LOL - I hope Bryan does not offer us a smorgasbord kind of a movie I guess so long as Wolverine is front and center, I am alright with that That's coherent enough for me cancan Jo

Can't help but think of current movie audiences taste -- DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has reportedly been given a budget of $ 200 million, helmed by fanboy favorite but never been Oscar-nominated director! Cast is stellar and includes quite a few Oscar winners and nominees. DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has a futuristic theme, with mutants as its characters. LES MISERABLES was reportedly made with only a $ 61 million budget, helmed by an Oscar-winning director. Cast was also stellar, including an Oscar winner when it was being filmed and earning acting honors ( win and nomination) for its leads and honors for the creative team. LES MISERABLES is an adaptation of one of the greatest works of literature, about a nation and its people during some pages of its history. Can you imagine if LES MISERABLES had been given at least double its budget ( $ 122 million, still only about 60% of the budget for DAYS OF FUTURE PAST) what it could have done with such riches? No wonder some of the best talents in Hollywood do franchise movies, in addition to those which test their artistic capabilities Jo

Well, I certainly hope it isn't lumped in with After Earth in any other way since that film is getting the worst reviews & comments I've ever seen. Some of the other films mentioned have done pretty well. Elysium won't be out till Aug but seems similar to Oblivion. Others have their own problems that I won't go into. I think the story line in Days... is quite different from all of them and really the only thing many of them have in common is having something to do with the future. I do agree that dystopian futures are big box office though. In comparison, I think Days... has more going for it in that it's also an X-Men movie which has a built in audience in addition to sci-fi fans, so I think it will do better than the rest. Sue

But is Days about a dystopian future for everyone or is it about a future where mutants are outlaws? From what I understand, the humans don't have any problems but it's the mutants who are being put into camps and hunted. To me that doesn't make them comparable. I think Days will stand on its own. And yes, Sue; away from 'After Earth'! I've heard what people have been saying about it, too and I don't want this movie related to it in any other way, either.

That article really just compared a bunch of movies which only have a future setting in common and not much else. I guess writers have to come up with ideas and sometimes they are less than great ideas. I agree with Sir Patrick Stewart in that con video a couple days ago, that Days may well be the blockbuster of 2014, because it is different from rest. Sue
