Editing the thread title ( on October 29) to include a SPOILER ALERT, as the news and discussions come closer to the movie.Just to make sure we did not misunderstand Bryan Singer's tweet welcoming Hugh to the cast -- Hugh himself gives us the assurance that he will be in the two worlds of the XMen ;D ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hugh Jackmanþ@RealHughJackman
Great 2 be back where it all began w/ @bryansinger & #xmen days of future past! And 2 work w/ the new cast for more than 4 hrs this time!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go cheer yourselves -- fanboys and fangirls > Jo

Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Ellen Page have all officially signed on to reprise their roles. This movie is looking very exciting.

A filmsite speculates on the possible timelines -- screenrant.com/x-men-days-future-past-timeline-70s/?_r=trueThe speculation is that it will likely start off in the 70's. Here is a sketch of how the XMen might look like then -- Wolverine, on the upper right hand corner, looks like the Wolvie we saw with Kayla/Silver Fox when they came across the people who were in a confrontation on a bridge in Canada. Maybe like this one ? Jo

This was pretty cool from Bryan today: Bryan Singer @bryansinger
3 #Oscars, 6 #GoldenGlobes, 1 #BAFTA, 2 #Emmys, 2 #Tonys, 5 #Oliviers, 1 #Ceaser - Now let's blow s**t up! #XMEN pic.twitter.com/vnmxb8Pdsr Someone pointed out that there should be 3Tonys, not sure if all the #s are correct but what a cast! Sue

Oscar nom, 1 GG, 1 Emmy and 2(?) Tonys go for Hugh? Too bad Hugh didn´t get that Olivier all those years ago. Let´s hope he will have that chance again (or, Hugh, come to perform to London finally!) I am really curious about billing here. Jennifer Lawrence is the "sweetheart" right now but Michael Fassbender (he is cute but his smile is creepy ) is much more famous than he was before and Hugh is also fresh from all those award shows, with Oscar nomination and GG win. Will they base the billing on how big their role is or how "famous" who is?

He was uncredited in XMEN: FIRST CLASS, but his 30-second or so cameo was the most exciting part of the movie to most fans! It even won awards for Best Movie Cameo of the year It's not sure how faithful the movie will be to the comic book. Most people agree that it is Kitty Pryde ( Ellen Page) who will be time-travelling between the two generations of XMen. But I have also read in a few sites that Wolverine will be the other time traveller. Presumably, the time with the young/first class XMen will take up most of the storyline, as they devise how to change the fate that awaits the current-day XMEN ( the first movies we saw). So, we'll see how Bryan and the rest of the creatives approach the screenplay... Many XMEN and comic book fans are super-excited about the prospects of this all-star movie! Could be the time of the XMEN to truly shine among all comic book adaptations! Jo

If we are to go by Bryan Singer's cast gallery for Future Past, it looks like Hugh occupies the most prominent position /photo/1And as individually identified by JoBlo -- I am not overly familiar with the XMEN canon, but is Shadowcat played by Ellen Page the same character in the present time known as Kitty Pryde? m.latino-review.com/2013/03/20/fox-sleeve-x-men-wolverine-it/---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fox Has Something Up Their Sleeve After “X-Men” and “Wolverine” Posted on 3.20.13 by Alex Corey Writer-Producer Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Wanted) recently sat down with X-Men Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer and came away with a little nugget. He wrote on his site Millar World, that Fox has a “very exciting announcement” that we will hear about over the coming months “if not sooner”. Millar says that X-Men: Days of Future Past could be the “biggest and most ambitious superhero movie ever made”. The film stars: Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Fan Bingbing and others. This team is built for a deep playoff run. Plot Recap: “The X-Men must travel in time to change a major historical event that could globally impact on man and mutant kind.” X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters July 18th, 2014. SOURCE: Millar’s World ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They already have a release date formalized. Jo

Hugh arriving from Atlanta after wrapping filming for PRISONERS. Will he retain some of that facial hair ( and even grow out the sideburns) for when he returns to his movie persona of Wolverine in DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, due to start filming in mid-April? Maybe Hugh does not get involved immediately in the filming and may have a few weeks off, but he may be redoing the facial hair look for his next movie, though Jo

If they do old man Logan, I might die. I loved that graphic novel they had with him. And it would be a chance for the character to get a shake-up. That poster is pretty cool, too.

I have just read the comic book episode on DAYS OF FUTURE PAST -- and have now figured out why the fan made the poster to show the two faces of Logan ( the older one is for the time when the world was in "shambles" ) SPOILER ALERT************SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT*************SPOILER ALERTSPOILER ALERT************SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT*************SPOILER ALERTBut it seems to me, based on the comic book episode, that the film script will likely be somewhat different, even if the basic concept stays the same. I think there will be three timelines -- *In the 1960's, in the time of the First Class, with the young Prof Xavier and young Magneto...and a young Mystique *In the 1980's or so, presumably 20 years after the First Class timeline -- which brings us to the time of The XMEN/Xmen 2/Xmen 3, when Wolverine becomes part of the Xmen...and also when the character of Kitty Pryde emerges. We also see Storm, Colossus, Angel, Rachel ( Rogue? ) and a few who will figure in the future timeline. *The future timeline is ironically set in 2013. This is the supposed future when the XMen became defeated and only a handful are left to fight ( which includes Wolverine) and from where Kat (Ellen Page) transposts her mind back into the past and to her younger self, Kitty (Ellen Page). Okay -- we do not know how the film script will shape up, but -- *there seems to be no major roles for the young Professor Xavier ( James McAvoy) and young Magneto (Michael Fassbender), but a villainess role will be played by Mystique ( Jennifer Lawrence) based on the comics. *Even the roles of the older Prof and the older Magneto are not too substantive, but Storm will play the leader role ( I wonder if Halle Berry's newly announced pregnancy will affect the filming sequence?). No Jean Grey or Cyclops or Beast ( but a young Beast is cast in the movie). I wonder how Bryan Singer and his co-creatives will manipulate the storyline, to make the story more exciting for purposes of film storytelling and how they will expand some of the characters? Jo

So I guess he won't be having much time off till after they finish shooting. He's due for a long vacation so a beach house in the Hamptons would definitely fill that role for the family nicely. The timelines are certainly open to speculation at this point since the many comic versions, animated shows and the X-Men movies themselves all play a bit fast and loose with time. I'm still waiting to see how they portray younger Professor X. In First Class in the 60's he is very young and has lots of hair when he's presumably paralyzed by Magneto but in what appears to be the 80's in Last Stand, younger Professor X can walk but has no hair when he first meets young Jean Grey. Did you read #141 & #142? That is what the movie is based on according to Bryan. There have also been versions of the story shown on TV animated shows, most recently Wolverine & the X-Men in which it was Professor X who was traveling back & forth, telepathically, to warn the team. There have been other versions too. Hugh has said that the script is fantastic so I'm sure Bryan will find a way to make it all gel! PS: Rogue's name is Marie but she really just goes by Rogue. Sue

So this just made it a bit more confusing... Bryan Singer @bryansinger 24m pic.twitter.com/a9PzdrypNj They saved the world and Professor X became paralized during the Kennedy administration but this thesis pic says 1973!??! Sue
