Was Daniel Craig last in line for the role of James Bond? In a video shot for the Britannia Awards, airing Sunday at 8 p.m. on BBC America, Wolverine himself has a bit of fun at Craig’s expense. As two makeup artists get Jackman ready for primetime, he jokes about Jude Law, George Clooney and others being the first choices for Bond. He also riffs on the award Craig will receive on Sunday — British Artist of the Year. You can almost see the air quotes around “artist.” Check out the clip below, which will air as part of Sunday’s show, as well as a few exclusive shots of Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford, Daniel Day-Lewis, and more at the event.

I am still hoping the two would appear in a film together!

I'm watching it now on BBC America and they just showed Hugh getting made up and "trying" to remember his lines congratulating Daniel. Very cute & funny. One of my other favorite guys Harrison Ford will also be there live, not on tape.

Here is a look at Hugh's portion of the Daniel Craig award presentation. It's most of the whole thing but it was actually done in about 3 segments. The two funny parts were before commercial breaks and the final "real" portion during the award presentation itself.

There was another very funny part where he's practicing his line and then talking to the makeup gals saying things like "are you sure he insisted I be in Wolverine costume" or something like that...then something about Daniel being obsessed with superheros and that James Bond isn't a superhero. I wish I could find a clip of that part cause it was very funny.

For those who, like I, missed the Britannia Awards, BBC America's TV schedule indicates a repeat this Wednesday, the 14th, at 6 p.m. I would imagine most cable systems that include that channel will show it then.
