It looks like the Chicago Dramatists ( where it all started) is reviving A Steady Rain in Chicago, with its original cast! www.chicagocommercialcollective.com/asteadyrain_wp/The play has been staged for short periods in many places in the USA and even outside the USA. I guess the themes are universal and the staging can be effective without being expensive. I have not given up on a film adaptation with Hugh and Daniel. But when I was able to ask him about it at the Broadhurst, Hugh's reply was that he has not kept up with the developments on the film adaptation. All we know was that Keith Huff was supposing to be doing several drafts of the screenplay. I hope that Hugh and Daniel could find a few months in their schedules for this little gem of storytelling, done on the big screen! Jo

Another international production -- there have been quite a few overseas staging. Maybe an indication that the dramatic play is excellent material for a film adaptation?

The story of Dahmer was part of A STEADY RAIN, wasn't it? Or derived from the real crimes committed by Dahmer? Denny & Joey encountered a young boy hiding from his supposed uncle...and they let him be returned to the uncle... only to find out that he was a monster, who practiced cannibalism. Hmm...had the plans to film the stage play solidified, then there would a direct connection to the now popular Netflix crime series. Steady Rain was on Broadway in 2009. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Steady_RainJo

This play is arguably my favorite stage appearance of Hugh Jackman. I do like him when he does powerful dramatic roles... and he was excellent in A STEADY RAIN, as his character falls into a physical, mental, and emotional abyss!

Btw, the actor who portrays Jeffrey Dahmer is Evan Peters.
Do you remember him as Quicksilver in XMen: Days of Future Past?
