The new fans are discovering how talented Hugh Jackman really is.
One group has been praising his portrayal in Bad Education as one of his best, if not the best screen portrayal.
It is really an acting gem - even if initially some people think he was just being his usual charismatic self. But as the portrayal unveils more and more of the person's character, then Hugh's portrayal of each aspect becomes like a smorgasbord of acting.
Had those greedy producers not sold the film rights to HBO, the movie and Hugh's portrayal would likely get a lot of Oscar attention. That was the time when there was not much competition because the pandemic limited filmmaking efforts. It seemed like a simple movie - about a financial scandal - almost like a crime procedural. Until one realizes that it unpeels the different layers in Frank Tassone's character. Hugh Jackman's agile portrayal of the man with multi-layered persona was en point!
I am glad that at least some of the newbie fans discovered what a very good and versatile actor Hugh Jackman is!

Initially, some were attracted to the movie because of the interest in the young actor Rafael Casals (?) -- especially because of the kissing scene...
but then they realize it was not the compelling characteristic of Frank Tassone.
He wanted recognition for his achievements... much like the counterparts in nearby Wall Street ( the story happens in one area in western Long Island very close to Wall St) -- including the right compensation for his efforts in raising the reputation of the Roslyn school to national levels!
What is interesting was that in real life - -he was able to pay off some of his stolen money via his pension... and the fact that in prison, he continued to earn a living by doing tutoring work.
A complex character - not an ordinary thief with a double life!

Both accounts are disavowed by Hugh Jackman!
