The channel, which will feature the latest in pop culture news, reviews, insider scoops and interviews with Hollywood's most creative minds and fascinating stars, will kick off with a "Town Hall" special with film and Broadway superstar Hugh Jackman . Jess Cagle , the Editor of Entertainment Weekly, will moderate the "Town Hall" special with Jackman answering a variety of questions from the studio audience about his career, including this summer's movie The Wolverine. The Australian-born superstar — who last appeared as a C&I cover guy back in December 2008 — is profiled in writer Wendy Wilkinson’s in-depth interview, which details everything from Jackman’s super-heroics as the “clawed and flawed” Wolverine to his fondness for classic and contemporary western movies. My heart skipped a beat (and my wallet clutched it's chest) when I saw Hugh's name linked to this article. But all it says is "Some of the world's biggest names have taken to its many stages, among them Joan Sutherland, Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Jackman, Luciano Pavarotti and Sammy Davis Jr."

I'm still hoping I can manage the trip when he takes his one-man show Down Under, which I'm SURE he will do... eventually.

Strangely enough I have always thought of Hugh as the heir to Sammy Davis, Jr. ... The man who can do anything. Act, sing, play musical instruments, dance, Movies, theater, night clubs. Put them anywhere and watch the magic.

If I recall right, unless he was part of something performed there before he became an international name, Hugh's only appearance was not as a performer at the Opera House but as the master of ceremonies for a cultural presentation by Australia when it hosted the ASIA-PACIFIC summit among heads of state for countries that belonged to the Asia/Pacific region. I thought it was also quite an honor for him to have played that role in front of presidents and prime ministers!
