Hi Guys, I have a question. Did all the $1000 seats come with a cocktail party and a meet and greet, or were these special tickets? I was lucky enough to get seats in the second row of the pit, but there was nothing about a cocktail party or meet and greet. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

THE TICKET HAS BEEN SOLD.Howdy - Diane, Datbuckaroo here. hope everyone is well! I am both very lucky and in over my head. A friend with an American Express Card bought me two VIP tickets for One Night Only which include best seats in Orchestra - front center likely row 3-5 and includes pre-event cocktail hour and post event "Meet and Greet" with Hugh. Only problem is that I did not ask for the $1,000 tickets and she bought two!! Would anyone like one of the tickets? PM me or email me: [no direct email addresses, please PM - Admin]Hope everyone who goes has a great time! Diane Admin: I can only assume this is not a "giveaway" - the ticket is for sale. THE TICKET HAS BEEN SOLD.

I wonder how many of his Hollywood colleagues will be supporting this show with their presence, seeing that this is a major charity event for the Motion Pictures and Television Fund ( MPTF)? Hugh has also supported previous events by hosting/co-hosting with Catherine Zeta Jones and by that duet with Kristin Chenoweth ( Anything You Can Do...) in former shows under the title of A FINE ROMANCE. I remember watching one of the San Francisco tryouts of the show which eventually came to be known as BACK ON BROADWAY, with then co-Chairman/co-CEO of Fox Films, Tom Rothman, among the audience. Now it is going to be under the initiative of solo Chairman/CEO of Fox Films, Jim Gianopulos, who has been the principal of the annual charity event for some time now. It would be nice if the tradeoff is Fox supporting the remake of CAROUSEL It would be exciting to see how his Hollywood colleagues will react to an entire show showcasing Hugh's stage talent in full! They already gave him a standing ovation for that Opening Number in the 2009 Oscars - I wonder how they will react to some of the numbers, particularly the nostalgic tribute to the Golden Age of Hollywood Musicals <cheer> or the Peter Allen episode smiley-cool13 Jo ( still looking for that "green-eyed icon")

It looks like this is one of the VIP packages for the concert, arranged by a promoter for such events ( who probably pre-bought an allotment of tickets beforehand) -- www.vipawardshowtickets.com/hugh-jackman-one-night-only-vip-concert-experience-package/I wonder -- is Hugh going to do a live auction after the show, like he did for Broadway Cares when the show was on Broadway? This time, to benefit the Motion Picture and Television Fund? And - will there also be photo auction opportunities, similar to what he did for Broadway Cares, also to benefit the MPTF? Bring your checkbooks, folks Will his Hollywood friends be there to support the auctions? John Travolta and Brendan Fraser were two such winners during TBFO. ScarJo was beaten in one of the Back on Broadway auctions, though. The funniest auction I had seen was the one at TBFO where a lady seated upstairs asked auctioneer Michael Mulheren to open a bid for breakfast with Hugh. Not possible, Michael says. The lady counteroffers - How about just an hour with Hugh? Michael says : Hugh is not going to last that long! LOL! In the meantime, poor Hugh was not even listening and only caught the tailend At a Back on Broadway auction, Hugh was agitatedly trying to kill the auction offer of someone seated at the front row. It was a bid from an 8-year old boy whom he befriended during the show, giving him one of the basketball props. LOL - it seems his Mom had given the boy the go-signal. PS: He was outbid! To compensate for his loss, Hugh invited him to have a photo op after the show ( with his compliments) smiley-hug006 Jo

If Hugh is still keen to take the show to other parts of the world ( Sydney, Melbourne, London, etc), they may not want to entertain any filming possibilities.
A petition was delivered to TBFO producer Robert Fox close to the time of the closing of the show to have a DVD made, but there was no response. There were some later indications then that Hugh might have wanted to reprise the show for a limited time at Radio City. Two years later after it closed on Broadway, TBFO repackaged like a concert to suit huge arenas, went to Australia on a very successful tour. And because there were cameras filming the show ( for purposes of projecting the show on bigger screens above the stage), it was thought that they might entertain the possibility of a DVD release. But no such thing happened.

Yes, my hopes certainly were raised when I saw the camera guy/videographer capturing the show in Brisbane at every performance I attended. But no, it was not to be. Ellen

If they really wanted to make a bundle, there would be a DVD of the performance. I say that all the time! I don't know why the powers that be don't video these performances. Even if there is a possibility of future performances as in Hugh's one man show, the thousands (or even tens of thousand like the BFO Aussie tour) who would have a chance to see it live would still do that. People who love live theater & live performances will always go see a live show if they have the opportunity! But with potentially millions of people who will never have a chance to see it, but would buy a DVD, that's a lot of money, whether for charity as in the LA show or just in general for the producers of limited run shows. It seems that some show producers and performers are starting to make their shows available on DVD, but it's still a rarity. To me it seems like a win/win and a no-brainer, so I don't get why they don't do more of it. Sue

It does not seem that money is big in selling DVDs as they are so easily copied and disseminated.
Still, looking forward to a helluva show. I will write a report...ESP if someone reminds me. ;-). Diane

Why Fox Home Entertainment -- Jim Gianopulos, who is chairing the charity event, is also the Chairman of Fox Filmed Entertainment. I've never heard a live Q&A for a concert Fire away with your questions! Maybe one or two about his next musical, stage or movie??? Jo

Did WME (William Morris Endeavor) Foundation sponsor the raffled tickets for the show, for those who participated in the Live Q&A?
Patrick Whitesell will likely be at the show, although he had already seen its first version at the Curran.

Patrick Whitesell will likely be at the show, although he had already seen its first version at the Curran. He also saw at least one performance on Broadway. I sat next to his wife and started chatting, having no idea who she was. She picked up my Aussie accent and asked where I was from. When I asked her the same question she told me she was based in LA and her husband was Hugh's agent. I hadn't seen pictures of him so wouldn't have realised who the man next to her was unless she'd told me. He seemed like a nice guy from the 2 or 3 words I had with him.

His wife is Lauren Sanchez, also a TV personality.
Patrick is not just Hugh's agent and longtime friend, but he seems to love musical theatre, too!

There's a contest for a chance to see the show with VIP tickets, including plane fare and hotel accomodations and other delightful experiences. The prize is for the winner and a companion. Each entry has a minimum amount of $ 10 and will benefit the Motion Picture and Television Fund Foundation -- www.looktothestars.org/news/10824-hang-with-hugh-jackman-for-one-night-onlyThe chances may be similar to a lottery ticket ( but not quite, statistically speaking - but who knows ) -- it is for a very good cause! International entries are welcome ( check out the few countries which do not qualify)! I'm in Let's support Hugh's effort for the industry, which has given us many enjoyable Hugh Jackman movies! Jo

BTW, I did hear that he is going to do the auction after the show. Also, I saw that the promoter had the VIP tickets, but I was also tod if you had the Black American Express card, that it might have come with the meet and greet. I only had the blue one, so I was out of luck

LOL -- thanks, Ellen You never know They should have announced this much earlier -- and raised a lot more money for MPTF! My American visa is ready!! The last renewal is good for 10 years and I still have a number of years to go. I once had to decline an invitation ( 15 were chosen out of 10,000 Ferrari message board members) to one of the most coveted events in Formula One, covered by over a hundred media persons -- the inauguration at the Ferrari HQ in Maranello, Italy of the new cars for the coming racing season! And this was because it took 15 days to get an Italian visa, while the invitation had to be accepted within a week's time. Too bad! But I have already been very lucky -- 3 serenades and one lap-visit from You-know-who ...Not to forget my being a Bicoastal victim for TBFO Jo

Anyone interested in a ticket to Hugh's show, please PM me. It is in the Parterre Left area, directly behind the orchestra section row L seat 1 (center aisle). I have a friend who will not be needing it and will sell it for less that its original cost. It's one row behind the $500 seats so it's a bargain for $180.
