Call me cynical, but we will be lucky if they let it live long enough to really catch on.

Absolutely, One of my favorite series. Of course it is intelligent, well acted, well written and consistently interesting ... Call me cynical, but we will be lucky if they let it live long enough to really catch on. I know what you mean. Things that don't interest me at all (aka most "reality" shows) seem to last forever, while shows I really enjoy disappear almost immediately. Case in point, "Awake" with Jason Isaacs. Yes it was a bit confusing at times, but the premise was intriguing and the last episode - where *everyone* was there, together again... Wow! I really wanted to see where they would go with that, and then a few days later read it was cancelled. It went from cliff hanger to oblivion overnight. I hope Perception lasts for a while. I liked Eric McCormack in Will & Grace, but this show gives him so much more to do. I'm quite impressed with his range. I hope I get to see him on stage one day. I'm sorry I missed him in The Best Man. I would have loved to see him play an evil SOB. It was a wonderful (and ballsy) choice for him after years as Will.

I too am a big of this show. The writing is good and Eric does a great job with his character. Let's hope it stays around awhile.

I have been a fan of Eric McCormick since "Lonesome Dove, the Series" when I first noticed him. I think he is a fine actor and am also enjoying "Perception". It's different and I hope it continues and is renewed for next season.

Thank you Valerie and others for discussing this show. I can't believe it's been on one whole season and I didn't even know it existed! I just watched the first 2 episodes! Love it! I'm going to watch the rest of season 1 over the next few days. Sue

Last season is being re-run on TNT. New season starts at the end of this month (February). Eric has tweeted about this being a short, 4 episode continuation of the season 2, and season 3 will begin in July. Kind of confusing as IMDB has the 4 listed as 2(season2)& 2(season3). Either way it will be 4 episodes then we have to wait again <awww> Sue

I don't enjoy it when series come in little "bursts" like this. Just when it gets interesting, it disappears again... and then I don't remember what "just happened" when it returns. I'm starting to think it's almost worth it to wait until a show is over and then watch it all in sequence. I'm trying to catch the reruns so I'm "up to speed" when the new episodes air. I'm still liking it, just wish there was better, more consistent "flow" rather than this "choppy" distribution which seems to be the norm these days.
Still think the girl-detective seems a bit too young. Really enjoying McCormack's performance.
