Thanks!
I can't believe I missed the movie in a cinema, when I had seen Hugh perform in London the prior year. LOL - I thought he belonged only to the theatre and did not expect the Hollywood trajectory of his career.
Thank goodness for DVDs!
I wonder why someone has not thought of an XMEN movie festival ( although I did see the first three played one after another on a regional cable channel here)? There is something really different seeing something like this on screen!
On a message board, someone also put up a gallery of Wolverine hairstyles from the first XMEN movie to The Wolverine. Quite an evolution and with funny nicknames, too. I will look for it ...

Whoa, Sue! :o
Could he be any more gorgeous than here? By the 'hair and sideburns', could he have been filming Kate and Leopold?

Oh, I vote for the 80's wave, 'cause lumberjack Logan is my favorite look for Wolvie. It looks natural. And truly wearable. And it MOVES! And... mmmhhhhhmmmm ... you can put your hands through it...
I like Hugh with longish hair...
Is that look the least Wolverine-like? Then I guess I'm not a 'true' Comic Book fan, hahaha!

I guess the second image is more in keeping with the what-a-200-year-old Logan -- a little world-weary and a lot tougher-looking! Jo

All of a sudden, Hugh's audition tape for XMEN-1 has become a moderate internet hit ( over half a million hits at this point) and has even drawn an occasional shoutout from bloggers and filmsites -- www.bustle.com/articles/26373-hugh-jackmans-original-audition-for-wolverine-is-a-must-watch-video*Great for Hugh fans who have not seen it! *Great opportunity to convince unbelievers who think Wolverine was cast wrongly! Although there have been some comments that say Hugh seemed terribly bored in this audition - LOL! I think Hugh was trying to hold off the more theatrical ( referring to the style of the theatre) aspect of how he acts - in case it becomes deemed as overacting... I think the screen test with Anna Paquin may have been what clinched the deal. Hmm...a lot of people are not aware that it was Lauren Shuler Donner who pushed for the Hugh casting, and not Bryan who was not interested initially. I think it was just that he was left with no choice ( filming had started and his original Wolverine could not show up for filming) but to get Hugh. Thirteen years later -- at the ComicCon, when they introduced the entire cast of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, did you notice the regard that Bryan had shown for Hugh -- they did make the first successful film in the series, followed it with the most respected one...and now the best-liked ensemble movie! That was one professional bond that seemed to have grown over the years of the franchise! Will Hugh make an appearance in Apocalypse? Maybe so, if Bryan had his creative say *Great for Bryan's legal defense team ( if you look at the calendar schedule on the board - it shows the months with heavy prep and filming schedules) - sort of subliminal message that we now know where Bryan was during those months. I wonder who drew initial attention to this internet upload of a few years' ago Jo

Jo, you mention the schedule on the wall in the background. I hadn't really paid that much attention to it... for some reason my attention was elsewhere...? But I did notice the poster for the movie DAVE, which has been mentioned as a possible musical produced by Lauren Shuler Donner (I forgot on which thread). If someone hasn't seen DAVE (Kevin Kline & Sigourney Weaver) look it up on Netflix. It's worth your time. Alma

Len Wein's wife ( who is a Hugh fan!) posted this TBT photo -- "Wolverine" meets his creator, at the ComicCon in 2003!

As usual, when I catch a movie while surfing on cable --I came across a movie called The Last Passenger and continued watching it. It is all about a runaway train driven by a man intent on committing suicide and incidentally killing all the passengers. It is the usual thriller...with a small cast. The lead man was middle-aged, not particularly striking, almost craggy-looking (although he could have been better looking when he was younger) but a very good actor. I did not recognize him at all. When the end-credits rolled, I was so surprised that the lead turned out to be Dougray Scott ( who was the first choice to play Wolverine). The movie was released in 2013. The above photo still from the movie actually flatters him a lot, compared to how he looked like as the middle-aged man in the film. He was very ordinary-looking in the movie...and boring. No offense meant. Can you imagine if he had played Wolverine, as originally intended? Not sure he could have sustained the same longevity in the role as Hugh still does. Jo

In honor of his appearance tomorrow night, a few blasts from the past of earlier appearances Gotta love him with Jean Grey! Will he wear those leather pants again? He won't, but I wouldn't mind! The hair...the teeth...the twinkle in his eyes...that one takes my breath away! Even further back!

What about Hugh singing at ComicCon ( appearance for VAN HELSING), in 2003, and the Hall ( E?) was rocking with laughter

And even earlier than that... undoubtedly, my favorite musical blast from the past, from 1998 At that point, Wolverine was still a comicbook character Jo
