Controversial rapper/actor scenes to be edited out from finished movie, due to intolerable set behavior. Hugh Jackman, on the other hand, draws the usual praise for his friendliness and down-to-earth behavior.

I hear Hugh Jackman is finally in #Vancouver to do reshoots for Chappie. Won't be here long. All in studio.

Someone from Washington state had earlier tweeted that her friend had been able to get a photo with Hugh at the airport. Maybe he was connecting to Vancouver?

There was another account by a lady blogger/writer who happened to sit next to Hugh on a flight in the past. When he found out that her husband was seated on another cabin class, he offered to exchange seats with him so the couple could sit together ... LOL - no way was she going to be cheated out of sitting for a number of hours right next to Hugh Jackman

Not a name that’s instantly recognized, but if you know that he was the director for such hits as Elysium and District 9, then you will know that he’s known for some pretty epic sci-fi robotic action films.



Now he’s teased a new movie called Chappie, a sci-fi comedy starring Sharito Copley, Sigourney Weaver, and Hugh Jackman. The story revolves around an artificially intelligent robot that has been stolen by two gangsters. Although this movie may have its action moments, this movie seems more dark comedy in nature when it releases March 27, 2015.



However, we did manage to get a snapshot of the poster, which is hanging in the convention lobby.

First CHAPPIE Poster Revealed at Comic-Con; See the Robot from Neill Blomkamp’s Provocative Sci-Fi Comedy

Very little is known about District 9 and Elysium director Neill Blomkamp’s new film Chappie besides the fact that it revolves around a robot imbued with artificial intelligence who is stolen by two local gangsters, and producer Simon Kinberg called it “the most provocative studio movie you’ll likely ever see.” Well it looks like Sony Pictures is ready to unveil this curious pic to the public, as the first look at the titular robot (played by Sharlto Copley) has been unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con by way of a Chappie poster banner. The film certainly looks to have a more darkly comedic tone than Blomkamp’s previous two features, and I’m really looking forward to seeing this thing in action in the near future. Moreover, the prospect of seeing Hugh Jackman stretch his comedy talents in an offbeat sci-fi comedy is highly enticing.

Hit the jump to check out the Chappie poster, which Steve snapped a picture of inside the SDCC convention center lobby. The film also stars Sigourney Weaver, and Die Antwoord frontpeople Ninja and Yolandi Visser. Chappie opens in theaters on March 27, 2015.

Hugh must have been approached by Simon Kinberg ( XMen: The Last Stand and XMen:Days of Future Past), who is a CHAPPIE producer, for his featured comedic role.

It looks very entertaining and will be a great audience draw. Hope the storyline is unusual and fascinating within the science fiction realm!

Hugh looks good, despite the mullet! Very masculine!

I didn't see Sigourney Weaver but her presence, esp for a science fiction movie, will add to the appeal of this movie.
