I wonder why we haven't gotten trailer 2 in a very long time. With all the posters and stills coming out, surely we'll get trailer 2 soon? Or am I hoping for too much?

This is the most recent BBFC info on THE GREATEST SHOWMAN -- www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/greatest-showmanPlease click on the word TRAILER below to get the summary of trailer reviews. *I posted the info re the third trailer (the one they reviewed on 10/31/17) on the thread PUBLICITY AND PROMOTION. However nothing seemed to have come out from that 1'51" trailer. *Trailer 4 was reviewed only on 11/10/17 with 2'30" length, per above list. However, nothing has been reported on the Canada website re any second or other new trailers for SHOWMAN. In the past, these are the two sources of trailer information ( usually watched with a hawk eye by fanboys ). Usually, the Canadian classification info will immediately precede the trailer release in North America ( USA & Canada). The UK trailer is usually ( but not always) released a day later or even more. Inasmuch as nothing new has been reported on the Canadian site ( as of this moment...but maybe later today?), I am not sure that we will get something soon ( like in the next few days). FOX just released MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS on Nov 10. But since Fox also released the first trailer of their favorite Oscar bait THE POST this week, I think that might take precedence when a new trailer is attached to the movie release ( that is the usual practice -- release a new trailer with a new movie release)... To be honest -- I don't know anymore what strategy FOX is employing. In the case of LOGAN -- they had about 3 regular trailers ( including a SuperBowl ad) before film release, but during the last few weeks before release, we were bombarded with so many short clips, we didn't know anymore whether we were coming or going It seems FOX Marketing has been taking a new tack in their promotional activity. In a sense, we just have to be patiently impatient There might also be some internal corporate upheavals within FOX given the news that there were some talks ( dead, at the moment) for a Disney acquisition of parts of the Murdoch media empire ( including the film studio 20th CFox), so we don't know if some things are not being run in a normal pace. Here, I am just guessing. Another factor -- sometimes the film director has a say in how the trailer is put together and the timing of releases -- we do not know if a new strategy is in place, given how Michael Gracey may want to position his work ( he is the film director and top creative mind in the project) in terms of addressing box office appeal. Just food for thought. Well, at this point -- who cares if a second trailer gets released and when -- *We already heard two blockbuster tracks - and that gave us a much deeper flavor than maybe a short trailer can provide. *They have moved up the USA release date to December 20, 2017 ( so it is a 40-day wait or so), so will a second trailer really add so much more? *There is a world premiere coming up soon - the one at the QMary2. I am guessing based on a key contest being held that the date might be in the second week of December ( maybe Dec 9)? So, we might get reviews as early as the second week of December? *The full soundtrack will be released on December 8. Again, that date and the possible world premiere date may be practically next to each other -- so we will likely get early reviews. *Presumably, film critics...and IF, big IF, the movie is also being positioned for awards glory ( Oscars, Golden Globes, SAG), then voting members as well will likely get early screenings ( with Q&A's) or screeners? I would think that special screenings will be the likely path. Btw, the deadline for submission of entries to the Golden Globes is on October 31, 2017 www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/golden-globes-2018-timetable-revealed-989582 ( because the GGlobes nominations will be announced on December 11). So, there is a possibility we might get even earlier real buzz on the novie? *The media tour should start in the early to mid-December. Hugh has already wrapped his latest film project ( The Front Runner) although he is also doing some Oscar campaigning for LOGAN. He is due in LA on Nov 10, for a session with the SAG-AFTRA at the FOX lot. The SAG component ( those who are AMPAS members) is the largest voting bloc at the AMPAS and nominates the acting honors nominations -- so that is important in the campaign calendar. Lastly, WHO KNOWS Jo

Let's hope -- although trailers do not usually drop on a Sunday But who cares -- THE GREATEST SHOWMAN does not seem to be following any convention when it comes to marketing it. Just like The Greatest Showman P.T.Barnum! Btw -- Not sure if it is a 2nd trailer launch or something else equally spectacular given Chester See's background. Jo

Hugh must be a little dazed these days -- not sure if he is coming or going *He wrapped filming THE FRONT RUNNER only on Nov 9 or early Nov 10 *He is in LA for the LOGAN Oscar campaign ( screening and Q&A with the SAG at FOX Studios itself -- SAG AMPAS members is the largest voting component at the AMPAS for Oscar honors)! *The Greatest Showman is now launching its publicity blitz. And-- he even had time to film the MONTBLANC/Greatest Showman ad Hey, Boy from Oz -- best of luck, Mate Jo

During the media tour for LOGAN in NYC in February 2017 at that downtown Manhattan luxe hotel -- he looked very tired. He admitted that he had no sleep that previous night, because they did overnight filming for THE GREATEST SHOWMAN up to 6:00 in the morning. Now it's haunting him again -- LOGAN and SHOWMAN competing with each other for his time. Ironically, he admitted that it was never meant to be that the two major movies were going to be made and released back to back! Also, some are confused as to which portrayal he might be considered for Oscar honors. If the AMPAS is wise, they should give it to the actor who has shown outstanding and noteworthy performances for the season in varied projects -- attesting to the overall versatility of the thespian! My bias is showing -- but this is also the thinking in some sectors. That his LOGAN portrayal can be helped by or will help his SHOWMAN performance Jo

The cinematography director is Seamus McGarvey, who is very accomplished: www.imdb.com/name/nm0568974/?ref_=nmbio_bio_nmHe has done quite a few films with Joe Wright ( Atonement/Anna Karenina/PAN). PAN must have been the reason why he was chosen for SHOWMAN? Jo

One of my most anticipated production numbers in THE GREATEST SHOWMAN ( and we only saw a very brief glimpse of it in the Montblanc ad) reminded me of -- I am looking forward to Hugh and Zac's big production number (THE OTHER SIDE) in THE GREATEST SHOWMAN We have seen Hugh dance a number of times (BOY FROM OZ 2003/ BACK ON BROADWAY 2011/ various TONYs/Oscars 2009 /Broadway to Oz) -- but I am also looking forward to Troy Bolton ( aka Zac Efron) showing us how well he can dance once again! I am still intrigued by this screencap -- If there is a second trailer, will it also hint at some conflict affecting his supposed professional relationship with Jenny Lind? Jo

The Greatest Showman's social media accounts links -- www.facebook.com/GreatestShowman/twitter.com/greatestshowmanwww.instagram.com/greatestshowman/Presumably there will be links to YouTube from referrals in the above links? Chester See has approx. 1.7 million YouTube subscribers. Maybe the social media accounts of Zendaya, Zac Efron, and Hugh Jackman will also be used for alerts, as their accounts run into the tens of millions ( Zendaya has 45 million Instagram followers ) ? Jo PS: Qwerty -- hope you don't mind if I repost the two alerts on the PUBLICITY AND PROMOTION thread, too -- maybe to be sure people don't miss your heads-up!

Is that the second trailer -- did the person who uploaded it simply repeated how it was described on SNL or was that his own perception of it ?It looks like just clips from the movie? Some scenes were simply extracted from the first one. It doesn't add much to the narrative from the first trailer -- simply a display of spectacle. No Oscar vibes, either. Maybe it is just a TV spot ad for later display? Or maybe SNL simply extracted some scenes from the forthcoming second trailer, as TV entertainment sites usually show only very abbreviated clips? I would be disappointed if that is all the second trailer is about - after waiting so long for it Jo

A Zac Efron site at least correctly labels it as a "teaser" -- and not a "trailer" called by the person who uploaded it.

Remember that the second trailer is more than 2 minutes long

It was smart of Fox to actually show the teaser during the commercial break of SNL. A lot of people watched SNL last night because of Taylor's performance and on Twitter, I saw a lot of people tweeting about TGS. The teaser shown might actually be a sign we're getting closer to the second trailer. Its already mid November hopefully we will get it soon
