www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=12548There is a litte more detail on the special features ( although I think we have seen these video clips, if we had been following the film promotion intensely). It doesn't sound like there will be a director's commentary ( sounds like The Fountain, another release by Warner Bros). Check out the feedback section. It looks like this is going to have an enthusiastic audience on the first day of release!

Good interview, but I wonder when it took place. The reporter made Hugh, Oscar and Ava a year younger than their actual ages. I hope the Barnum movie is still happening.

I also got 2 different copies of Wolverine!! My daughter got me the fancy 4 disc one! Nancy A quick question for anyone...did you get the BluRay or DVD? And were there any special features on either? Guess that's 2 questions I've been confused about ordering because I've seen mentions of special features in various comments etc on other sites, but the Amazon product description says no special features. On a humorous note I have a Roku (my favorite toy for years now) and posted on their blog today was... "Top ten new releases & recommendations!" and they put Prisoners on their list twice!!! Guess somebody on their staff really liked it LOL! blog.roku.com/blog/2013/12/26/top-ten-new-releases-and-recommendations/It seems to be showing up on lots of top ten lists. <cool> Sue

I've thought about what made the movie so compelling to watch on the big screen ...and this snippet of a review from the Montreal Gazette points out one of the obvious reasons -- Apart from the storyline and characters, the cinematography engulfs the audience and adds to the feeling and pervading atmosphere of dread, intensity, and suspense! The way the scenes were framed and the way they follow one another made the storytelling riveting, plus the impact of the film sound ( also another achievement!) made one feel as if one was actually part of the story, one who was a very interested onlooker. I can understand why so many moviegoers were stunned by it...and why the sale of the DVD/BluRay discs is very brisk. Someone tweeted that after seeing the movie on the big screen, she/he was very anxious to see it all over again, asap! Others said that they wanted to catch up on some of the points they missed on the big screen Jo

The Target one my son bought was BluRay and had some special video or something that was a Target exclusive. It also contained the regular DVD. The one my daughter got me (that I'm keeping) has everything imaginable on it: BluRay, DVD, Digital download, BluRay 3D and all the extras that are on the regular 2 disc BluRay/DVD. If you have a BluRay player, get the Target one-it has all the extras on it.

We may have seen this before during the promotion for PRISONERS, but I am not sure, so my apologies for posting it again -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS3C7hexie8&feature=youtu.beI really like his radio interviews, more than TV talk show appearances, because he does seem more easygoing, more candid, and shares a bit more of himself. I don't think i'd ever heard that interview, either. Another great one. Thanks, Jo. Is it just me or are the radio hosts getting younger and younger? They can't all be college radio station staff! Ellen

Okay, I finally watched Prisoners! (I know!) This may have been answered here already, but I hadn't read the other thread to avoid spoilers. Why did the little black girl think Keller was there? (as if he was the kidnapper) Did she just get confused because they both wore hooded jackets? And why did the black couple not go to jail for their part in the kidnapping & torture of Alex? (who was really the boy she & her husband kidnapped years before)

(who was really the boy she & her husband kidnapped years before) Nancy The girls heard his voice the first time he went to the house to talk to the aunt. When she told him about Alex's fear of snakes. That's how he knew it was her (the aunt), when Joy said "you were there". That's why he went back to the house to look for Anna. One of those movies where the clues are easier to catch on the second viewing. As for the Birches being accomplices in the crime...There probably wasn't much evidence of their part right away. They may have eventually been arrested & tried just as Keller may have eventually been tried and sent to prison, but they didn't show what happened next...maybe another movie?? Sue

The words Joy Birch said was " You were there...it put tape in our mouths". She must have heard Keller talking when he visited Holly Jones but was unable to scream for help because their mouths were taped, while they were hidden by Holly in a part of the house where she could hear Keller talking. What she said immediately triggered a confirmed suspicion in Keller's mind and he rushed headlong to Holly Jones's house in the hope of rescuing Anna .
Nobody knows yet what awaits Keller and the Birches, as far as their culpability in the kidnapping and torture of Alex Jones. The circumstances would likely be weighed in by the jury in determining their guilt and by the judge in the sentencing, in case all three ( assuming Keller is rescued, which seems to be implied by the ending) are pronounced guilty.

On another note, in case you are interested, there was an earlier set of related clues that a viewer might have missed, which I could confirm only on third viewing -- I posted this on the thread FAN REACTIONS/REVIEWS:

On today show Prisoners was called one of the best movies of the year released too early so people have forgotten about it and that Hugh Jackman was fabulous. One of the cohorts said he just saw it on the plane and had never heard of it!
