THE RULES

As with all of this, The Rules are still a work in progress. I don't think any of this is "news" but we should have some formal statement for Newbies who have not made the transition with us. This has been adapted from The Rules we have been following for years on the old board.

I will leave this thread open for now so you can all contribute suggestions/additions/corrections/omissions. When we're done editing it, I will delete the comments and have the revised Rules stand on their own.

RULES TO ABIDE BY WHILE VISITING THIS FORUM

This is a fun musical theatre board established for entertainment purposes to celebrate the talents of our favorite Boy(s) From OZ. It is a place to have conversations and share information.

When posting ANY topic, please be considerate and thoughtful of what you write. Once you hit "Post Reply" it is out there for all to see and it is ultimately your responsibility.

If you see a post you don't like - IGNORE IT. "Troll" activity isn't any fun if it doesn't provoke a reaction. If you must respond, please do so with a PM to the poster. Please start slow with "Did you really mean...?" - because they might have been joking and you didn't "get" it.

If you are openly hostile to anyone on the forum your post will be removed. Do it twice, and ALL your posts will be removed. Do it three times and you are banned. Fini. No discussion.

Treat everyone as your equal. No one is entitled to tell someone else how to behave, what they should write, say, think, etc. We're all sensible adults; behave like one. If you find something questionable or offensive, contact me via PM or the "Report to Mod" button (I will receive direct email notification either way) with the exact topic, post number, the participant's screen name and reason for your concern.

It is strongly advised that you set your Profile to receive email notification of new PMs.

Charity efforts and fund-raising are not allowed. No advertising. No political rhetoric. No proselytizing. If you'd like to promote or debunk something, post a link in the Off Topic category with a very short pro/con statement and let people decide for themselves. Do NOT post a dissertation on the subject.

Be respectful of the cast members, crew, their families and their privacy. (A moot point at the moment, but hopefully germane for future events.)

As with any cyber-posting – don’t believe everything you read. Just because somebody typed it, doesn't make it true. You can "prove" anything - The Holocaust never happened; the Moon Landing was filmed in Texas; Elvis is alive and well and living in Canada - if all you need is a webpage for proof.

Please keep your daily contributions to a reasonable amount of legitimate postings. If you're sharing six photos, they do not require a half dozen individual posts. While a TV Alert might need "It's tonight!" if it's fallen far down the list, please don't "bump up" posts for no reason.

When in doubt, ask yourself "What would Hugh do in this situation?" 'Nuff said.
