Apart from the inclusion of EVITA, will they feature the British mega-musicals such as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera? Even Miss Saigon because that is based partly on a slice of American history ( its involvement in the war)? Or will they limit most of the experience to original American musicals, especially those that can be identified by eras? Will these be only original stage musicals or will they include film musicals that have been adapted for the stage ( e.g., Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kiss Me Kate, etc)).
There is such a rich history of musicals!

I hope this turns out to be false. Exclusive: Broadway 4D Cancels Planned Times Square Attraction Featuring Filmed Broadway Performances You can put away the 3D glasses for now. Broadway.com has learned that Broadway 4D, the planned Times Square attraction that was set to feature filmed musical performances enhanced by in-theater special effects, is being scrapped because of financing troubles. As previously reported, Broadway 4D was going to take up residence at the Times Square Theatre on West 42nd Street, which has been vacant for over 20 years. The renovations of the venue were estimated at $30 million. Embroiled X-Men series director/producer Bryan Singer and Jeff Sagansky served as executive producers. Among the performances rumored to be featured in the attraction were pop superstar Christina Aguilera singing the Evita anthem “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and Hugh Jackman reprising "Oh! What a Beautiful Morning" from his star turn in Oklahoma!, along with appearances by Matthew Morrison, Antonio Banderas and Sierra Boggess. The company behind the Broadway 4D attraction was led by entertainment lawyer Robert Kory and Gary Goddard, a Broadway producer who has pioneered 4D technology for theme park rides worldwide. Goddard has also been facing legal issues along with Singer. A spokesperson for Broadway 4D commented, "the rumor is inaccurate."www.broadway.com/buzz/176117/exclusive-broadway-4d-cancels-planned-times-square-attraction-featuring-filmed-broadway-performances/?utm_source=newsletter-52914&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=BuzzlineHopefully just postponed...? These things happen...
A year ago or so ago, a show called REBECCA ( based on the famous Du Maurier novel) was eventually cancelled because of financing problems. It had already been all set to go -- musical score and book completed, theatre signed up, cast and creatives signed up, rehearsals may have already started, but it did not find its financial footing. If I am not mistaken, there were even rumors of some shoddy goings-on re raising funds.
We'll see ...

It looks like it is a dead project, per Michael Riedel -- nypost.com/2014/05/30/plug-pulled-on-broadway-4d/Why was the project announced even before the financing has been fully lined up? Or were the stars whom they have signed for special numbers the attraction to get the financing? At least, Hugh's " OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNIN'" has already been recorded twice -- the version from the RNT revival and his appearance on HEY, MR. PRODUCERS...And there are a few other instances where he sang a portion of it during talk show appearances ( Michael Parkinson, Inside the Actors Studio)...and of course that opening number from BACK ON BROADWAY is already etched in our memory cells. What a shame. My first thought was that perhaps potential investors got cold feet when Bryan Singer's troubles blazed across the headlines. I hope the project can be revived at some future time. Ellen

If the worry is whether Bryan's legal problems may dampen interest in the filmed show, then they just have to look at how XMEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST did --
