Before entering the theater where Harvey Fierstein's CASA VALENTINA is running, I noticed a very tiny, elderly blond woman among the crowd who looked slightly familiar. Could it be? I asked her is she were Sondra Lee, and it turned out she was! I thanked her for all the happy times she and the rest of the Mary Martin-led PETER PAN cast afforded me as I watched it on NBC year after year during my childhood. She played the feisty Tiger Lily. Of course, it's not P.C. now, but I used to love her "Ugg-a-Wugg" song. She took my hand and thanked me for my "lovely" words. Afterwards, I looked up her age. She's 83. I guess that's why she's not in the upcoming PAN movie.
