Business news has been talking about the official offer to merge with Time Warner by the Murdoch-controlled companies and the rejection by Time Warner of the first offer.

Very interesting possibilities, if it happens! First rejections do not usually stymie interested parties so future talks could still happen. And it seems that Rupert Murdoch is till pursuing his courting of Time Warner.
What if --
*Most interesting one from fanboys and fanboy sites is the speculation that maybe we will now see Wolverine and Batman together - LOL!
*Hugh has worked with both studios ( although he is mostly identified with Fox). PAN is a Warner Bros production while his recent box office hit "Days of Future Past" has made FOX very happy! He will likely be back at the Fox lot for more XMEN movie(s)... and hopefully the project Greatest Showman on Earth... But I am glad that Hugh has diversified his film projects from major studios. The only blot in my book for Warner Bros is when they did not even want to promote The Fountain after its rejection at the Venice Film Festival ( including not wanting to finance an official director's commentary by Aronofsky - which he decided to do on his own, via a blog). Look at how the movie eventually became a cult hit.
*Is the consolidation of these entertainment companies ( media, filmed entertainment, etc) going to affect how the content is offered to the public?
*Will actors and directors welcome this consolidation of film studios, if it happens or are they better positioned (in terms of choices of roles/projects and pay) if the two film companies are completely separate companies? Interestingly, Ian Mckellen has been involved in the biggest franchise movies of Warner ( Harry Potter and The Hobbit) as well as in the XMEN series for Fox. Gone are the days when a major actor is tied up with a particular studio.
