I read this. She was a fabulous Broad - and I mean that as a supreme compliment. You could hear a pin drop in the theater when she did "Ladies Who Lunch"! It's sad to think that we will never get the chance to see her on stage again. Short video and some photos hereLove this bit on Letterman - -

They broke the mold when they made Elaine Stritch. She will be missed.

I too was very sad to hear of her passing and on the day she died I re-watched her startling, poignant often sad but mostly heroic final tribute to herself "Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me". It's available for streaming on Netflix and I had watched it when it first became available. This week though it took on new meaning and I cried, especially at the end when she was, in essence saying good-bye to her fans for the last time. Watching her struggling with aging issues but ultimately giving another glorious performance was sometimes heart wrenching but amazingly honest & straightforward as she was with everything she did. If anyone is interested, Amazon also has the DVD & Her Tony award one woman show Elaine Stritch At Liberty was recorded and it also available on DVD. She was one of a kind and will be missed. Sue
