I was so sorry to read that James Garner is gone. He was one of my all-time favorite actors. I loved him in every role he played; his acting appeared effortless. When he smiled his eyes just sparkled, and seemed to light up everything around him. He was a sweet, humble, man, and he will be remembered fondly by everyone who enjoyed his many memorable roles.

Difficult childhood, did his own stunts (even had one car stunt named after his character "Rockford"), married for nearly 58 years to his only wife, Lois.
Seemed like a nice, yet no-nonsense guy. And so good looking. May he rest in peace.

My mother was the biggest James Garner fan. We used to watch him on THE ROCKFORD FILES together. He was a fine actor and always seemed like a real gentleman.

Lots of sad losses during the last week in entertainment and in the larger world. Praying for victims & families of the world tragedies and remembering the entertainers. I've been rewatching a lot of James Garner movies & TV the last couple days. I also loved this little tidbit that @tcm shared on twitter. It's Clint Eastwood talking about his friend James Garner in 2001. Watch for the little clip from Maverick, the 'bad guy' Maverick fights with is the young Clint Eastwood!

I grew up watching MAVERICK, and can still sing the theme song, but my favorite James Garner performance is in THE AMERICANIZATION OF EMILY. Great film!
