LOL - who cares about the lingering smell of fish if Hugh Jackman is crouching/bent down and spends a fairly long amount of time cleaning the fish, right in front of you ...I only looked at the fish for a total of one second

Dave Carlin is a reporter for CBSNewYork.
Must be another theatre arts student?

But another ATC'er nixes the play and Hugh's restrained role.

It was mentioned in an earlier article/review that Hugh Jackman does not use his charisma or a flash of his famous smile to win over the audience...

In THE RIVER -- he didn't have to use his charisma or a flash of his famous smile to win over the audience. Just the sight of him performing so close to the audience, especially if you were seated at the "riverbank", was enough But he did use lots of charisma and flashes of winning smiles for the BC/EFA auction that took place after the play PS: One incident though that I saw was during one of his most aggressive shaking of his waders. He ripped his pants at the back...but he continued as if nothing happened. After a few minutes and having completed the scene, he went back to the "room" at the back and came back very shortly with a new pair of pants. He was non-plushed and performed like a true trouper! The crowd admired him for such display of professionalism ( although we also giggled a lot ).
