I noticed that MSNBC edited Hugh's first intro, especially about the bathroom door signs, "I'm Busy Giving a S**t." (See earlier post). . I hadn't realized that the availability of toilets and proper sanitation had such far-reaching implications worldwide. For instance, it was explained that adolescent girls drop out of school at the onset of menarche if there are no toilet facilities in their schools. It's a domino effect. I hope India makes good on the PM's pledge to ensure such facilities for everyone by 2019.

Ms. Fleming's special performance at TriBeCa Rooftop -- an intimate appearance rare for the in-demand star -- is motivated by her commitment to Sing for Hope's "art for all" programs, which range from youth arts classes to hospital bedside performances to the Sing for Hope Pianos that appear regularly in the city's parks and public spaces for anyone and everyone to play...



Ms. Fleming's performance will be accompanied by Mr. Hersch ("the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade" - Vanity Fair) on a special Steinway on loan from the company.
