From Broadwayworld.com today, here are the confirmed Tonys presenters and/or performers. One name is notable by his absence. "Hosted by Tony Award winners, Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming, Broadway's biggest night will feature appearances by Bradley Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris, Jim Parsons, Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Tisdale, Bryan Cranston, Joe Manganiello, Kiefer Sutherland, Anna Chlumsky, Larry David, Jason Alexander, Misty Copeland, Sting, Corey Stoll, David Hyde Pierce, Debra Messing, Jennifer Nettles, Marg Helgenberger, Rita Wilson, Rose Byrne, Thomas Sadoski, Sutton Foster, Taye Diggs, Taylor Schilling, Bobby Cannavale & Tommy Tune among others." So, either HJ has not yet signed on, or he's not participating this year. I can't imagine he'd be lumped under "among others." I have a feeling the ceremony will be Hugh-less. Ellen

Has he ever done any presenting, when he was not hosting the TONYs? The only exception in a non-Hugh hosted TONYs was when he did the duet with NPH.

No, I don't think he has, come to think of it.

Another exception where he turned in an appearance -- wasn't that in 2012 when he was given his second TONY, with Deb herself presenting the special award ( for his contribution as a performer and as a humanitarian)?

Michael Riedel talks about the glamorization of the TONYs, although he seems to pine for the good old days
nypost.com/2015/05/29/the-tonys-get-a-glam-makeover/
I think Amanda Seyfried will be among the glamorous star attractions at the Red Carpet!
Hmmm...so Vogue will now have a say on how the Broadway talents should look more like the Oscars actresses and actors on the ubiquitous Red Carpet?
I wonder if Anna Wintour will be there? If her beloved Roger Federer gets into the finals of the French Open at Roland Garros, also scheduled on the same day as the TONYs ( or at least earlier in hours) -- where would she be? Remember her sitting at Wimbledon together with Hugh, as they cheered for Roger last year? Btw, I saw her at the Phiippe Chatrier stadium watching Rafa Nadal play the other day. She does love tennis!

Jo--Yes, of course Hugh would want to be at the Tonys when receiving his Special Tony, whether or not he knew Deb would be presenting it to him.
I think the Tonys have become more glamorous -- or at least more diverse in genre concerning their star attendees -- in recent years, in tandem with CBS honchos' desire to feature more celebs with whom the viewing audience would be familiar. Ramin Karimloo, not so much. Bradley Cooper or Jim Parsons (yes, they do theater but not primarily), for sure. That's who Mr. and Mrs. America might tune in to see. And of course they must be dressed to the nines, a la Vogue.

LOL - I must have missed that tiny caption and Hugh's photo when I first saw the article. In the body of the article, he did mention that Hugh et al were on the boards -- and I thought he only meant that Hugh was among the stars treading the boards this season. It is possible that whoever did the caption for the NY Post may have misunderstood the reference to Hugh in Michael Riedel's actual article? Now I have to see the show -- we get the immediate replay or maybe even a live version here in Manila Jo

Hmmm, you're probably right. I should have realized that the caption writer was very probably someone other than Riedel. So...it's back to guessing.
