All the photos and clips are wonderful. (Keep 'em coming, Jo!) I wish I could have seen this but will have to be content that I enjoyed a smaller, more intimate production in SF and NYC. Full article (Sorry if redundant - haven't had time to look at everything here) Wow! That man really knows how to put on a show. Good on ya, Hugh!

Nancy, it's the Brisbane Times extended clip of "Singin in the Rain" from Fairfax Media. Can't find it now, but after dancing with the women, the "boys" come on. The entire clip runs 1:39.

Re the critic's reaction to TENTERFIELD SADDLER. Hugh singing only with a guitar accompaniment till the end of the song would have been more appropriate in a more intimate venue...or for a filmed sequence (TV or movie)...or maybe even for a recording. But for a big venue like the Rod Laver Arena ( I can't believe that in two months time, I will be watching tennis there on TV for two weeks)...I think having the lush orchestral accompaniment midway to the end adds more drama to the delivery.

His experience in action or fantasy movies, especially with wire work, has probably prepared him for this kind of showmanship!

One or two tweets mentioning his slight accident ( someone called it "an impromptu back flip") -- hope he is fine!

(The Aussie accent drops the "r" making it sound a little like "hot.") Nancy

I repeat my question that nobody answered earlier: What song did he sing to her if any? From the Set List I've seen - my best guess would be "The Way You Look Tonight" (as in NYC).

The Hamish and Andy video which they released did not capture the first part of the musical team-up of Hugh and Andy. The Periscope recording/replay showed more of the complete routine, especially the parody of the Bing and Frank dialogue, but tailored for an Aussie audience ( I heard mention of the controversial Aussie tennis player Nick Kyrgios). Here it is, again -- katch.me/fawnfatinky/v/3c000850-fa98-3d19-ab11-d0330683305fAnd if you're curious about the Bing and Frank movie duet --
