LOL!
I get by... but I sometimes have to wrestle with trouble-shooting because I run into problems of my own making and from my own technical ignorance.
Last night ( Manila time) I was lazily browsing or playing around with some online games when all of a sudden, it seems my careless fingers must have touched a button that I have been studiously avoiding in the last months, and before my horrified eyes saw the laptop starting to upgrade to Windows 10
When the new Windows 10 was offered ( and despite many seductive free-software upgrade offers from Microsoft), I had resisted it because I wanted to see how it pans out ( whether fixes would have already been introduced before I decide to take the plunge). Even my sister's encouragement that she had already downloaded it and found no earthshaking changes did not push me.
I took my time...until tonight's baptism of fire
Okay, half the night I was trying to test out the preferred sites. I couldn't even figure out how to read my SENT emails, until by accident ( as usually happens), my finger lightly and unintentionally pressed over an icon which opened it up for me. Of course, I also had to re-enroll on message boards or other sites that I frequently visit.
I guess the eye has a very strong capacity to adjust -- what I used to read on the left side is now pinned to the right side. I actually did not notice any major changes ( yet!), but will probably encounter them one of these days. But in the process of changing over, it also gave me an opportunity to clean up my files.
One area (that I have not really looked into but which I noticed) was geared towards innovation in the use of other techonology gadgets ( e.g., mobile phones apps) as I usually stick to my good ol' laptop or sometimes to my tablet when I travel. I guess I will eventually explore those options.
This is called the Knowledge Age -- but nobody told me that it means my fingers have to be carefully drilled on what and what not to do
