Tweeted by one of the backup performers -- This was during the inauguration of WYNN LAS VEGAS, a one-off invitation-only show by Hugh Jackman ( I think it was called IN TIME), directed by George C. Wolfe and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall. It was also where he first sang the medley of NEVER GONNA DANCE ( not sure if that is the exact title, but that has become a staple in some of his public performances). It was put together by John LaChiusa. The lady in red in the photo is the ex-Mrs. Steve Wynn, Elaine Wynn who was invited to dance by Hugh? I also remember a number of famous celebrities who saw him perform -- Pres George Bush, Sr., Elizabeth Taylor, Steven Spielberg ( whom he asked to join him onstage), Donald Trump ( who came to see him again on Back on Broadway), etc. I could be wrong, but I think this show became the seed performance for his eventual one-man show which originated in San Francisco, detoured to Toronto, became BACK ON BROADWAY, and reprised as Broadway to Oz. Steve Wynn asked Hugh to do a one-night show for the inauguration of his Las Vegas Hotel after he saw him in THE BOY FROM OZ. www.playbill.com/article/hugh-jackman-to-play-vegas-wolfe-to-direct-com-124371Jo

This was in 2005. Someone from the original TBFO forum was invited to the dress rehearsal and gave us a detailed account of the performance. A report on the glitterati who likely attended the inaugural show for WYNNLASVEGAS, which was performed by Hugh -- A thread on BWW -- www.broadwayworld.com/board/readmessage.php?thread=848425
