Wolverine has become such a part of popular culture that trick-or-treat kids or partying adults will often wear the signature look.
Once upon a time -- Hugh did take little Oscar trick-or-treating wearing a Wolverine costume provided by the prop department at FOX, with Dad probably dressed as the realHughJackman ( or was he dressed as his movie alter ego?), and nobody ever knew that it was the real deal! LOL! I wonder if any ever remembered having doubts when he opened his door and saw the duo?
There are too many images on the internet to post here.
I have seen men - youngish and oldish - wearing his signature XMen 2 costume. Very simple -- the white sleeveless t-shirt/wifebeater, the dogtag, and the big buckle...and of course the hair re-combed to look more like Wolvie , with some attempts at growing the facial hair/just drawing on the face/attaching fake hair or even use a half-lit cigar as prop ... As a variation, they might also wear a leather jacket, inspired by the costumes of the film Wolverine.
To-date, I have not yet seen an impersonation of "Logan"
I have seen kids in costume either way -- the "wifebeater" style or the yellow-and-blue comicbook classic. I have seen even women wearing the leather-type Wolvie costume. I have seen a father and daughter impersonating Wolverine and his little X-23.
X-23?? It has caught on with young girls, too --
Nice, huh? I wonder where she got the two-clawed prop?
Also, dogs have worn the yellow-and-blue costume...and even babies, if they are too small to wear the yellow-and-blue classic , they wear baby clothes with the Wolverine image (including theThe Wolverine classic Japanese- inspired black and white image).
Maybe that is the appeal of Wolverine -- he may be the epitome of the manly and masculine ideal, but he is also very much the everyday man... often accessible with his humor and irrational ( sometimes) outbursts and a personality that is "cool" ( comicbook Wolverine)... and to which the Jackman film interpretation has added the words " complex, commanding, and charismatic").
Oh, by the way -- even pumpkins like to go to parties dressed as Wolverine
Kinda
Happy Halloween!
