Hi, there. Just wondering if anyone has seen Jim Parsons in Harvey at the Roundabout Theater. Some friends of mine and I are going this Wednesday to see the matinee, and I'm curious to find out whether Mr. Parsons is signing autographs. And, since I really only know my way around the Times Square/Theater District, if anyone knows what restaurants I may find in and around the theater, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks! - Cindy

I saw the show but didn't hang around for an autograph. Parsons was affable and likable on stage. During his run in THE NORMAL HEART, I once encountered him on 8th Avenue as he was making his way southward toward 45th St. about an hour before curtain. I smiled as I passed by, said "Have a good show," and he returned a very stony face--so I do wonder if he loosens up to do autographs. I didn't particularly care to find out. As to restaurants, there's the Cosmic Diner on 8th Ave. at 52nd St. That's about the only reasonable diner-type place I know of there.

Thanks, Ellen. Parsons strikes me as not being particularly approachable. But before I dragged my stuffed Walter the Muppet on the bus with me for Parsons to sign, I thought I'd ask! And I'll be sure to check out Cosmic Diner as well.
Thanks again!

I loved the show! The entire cast is really strong. Jessica Hecht as Veta (Elwood's sister) had me laughing so hard! And Jim Parsons did an exceptional job. I'm sure everyone wants to compare him to Jimmy Stewart in the role, but in my opinion, he took the part and made it his own.
I thought the sets were beautiful, and the way they moved around was awesome! This was my son's very first Broadway show (he's 12); I think I picked a good one because he certainly enjoyed himself!
By the way, yes, Jim Parsons did come out and sign autographs and he seemed to be very friendly, according to one of our group who squeezed in and got an autograph. Have to share this though: my son and I got to the theater early, so I decided to walk around the block and find the stage door. I saw a small group of people behind a barricade across the street from what I thought was the stage door. So, thinking I had a chance to actually meet Jim Parsons and get an autograph, I went over. I asked one of the people standing there if Mr. Parsons had already arrived yet. She replied, "Who?" It seems that the folks at the barricade were not waiting for Jim Parsons, but for Channing Tatum, who was appearing on David Letterman's show that day! I didn't realize that the Ed Sullivan Theater was right around the corner from the Roundabout.... :o
