It turns out the poster with the retro feel of old Hollywood was James Mangold's Valentine Day gift --

Check out some of the thin fine lines drawn horizontally or vertically. One is particularly noticeable - it runs down from his chest down to his pants. One eagle-eyed fanboy noticed the artificially-created fold lines on the poster to make it look really vintage! I guess old school posters were folded, not rolled as they are now.

More filmsites/blogs support the dark tone of LOGAN. LRM is particularly positive that if the movie delivers as the various trailers and other publicity stunts ( the 40 minute screening) indicate, the fanboys will be happily celebrating the change in tone! lrmonline.com/news/fox-had-some-concerns-about-logans-dark-toneBtw, I like the way Stacey Snider described the movie is an "elegy" about life and death. That sounded more poetic ( lol - an elegy is actually a poem) than if she had chosen to describe it as a Wolverine "requiem" ( that sounds too mournful!). In the end, while box office success is what the FOX suits will be happy with, maybe for Hugh Jackman ( and Mangold) it will be artistic praise and personal fulfilment that will count in the end! Not too long now -- Hugh is probably on his way to Berlin now for the World Premiere! Jo

American Girl is issuing a new doll, a boy-doll, for the first time in its retailing history. He will be called LOGAN. Some say it is a coincidence that it is coming at the same time as the release of the movie LOGAN. Others say it could very well be a merchandise tie-in with the movie But this tweeter clarified it as such --

"Deep, character-rich, and emotionally impactful!"
MUST-WATCH great video of film analysts talking about the artistic prospects for and reception of LOGAN, after the recent news shared by Fox CEO Stacey Snider re FOX execs expressing reservations on the planned dark focus and direction of LOGAN.
Analysis of different views on the prospects of this movie and the direction of the comicbook movie industry, if as they say this movie becomes a gamechanger.
MUST PAY ATTENTION: At 3'16", one of the analysts shares what she has learned from " a trusted critic" who had seen the movie! She repeats what the critic said : "that they were vacillating between triumphant hand-raising "F-you!!!"s and crying worse than in Manchester by the Sea!"
Wow - I expected the intensity and the action-orientation but I never thought this could be a real tear-jerker!!
On top of that, the idea that this will be Hugh's farewell portrayal of the role adds to the teary-eyed reception!
