The Tony Awards are taking place on Sunday, June 11, and in honor of all of the forthcoming accolades, we decided to mark the occasion by hitting up some of our favorite Broadway stars for some of their less distinguished moments: their craziest auditions. Kevin Spacey, Hugh Jackman, Condola Rashad, Tavi Gevison, and Dear Evan Hansen's Ben Platt are among those who shared these hilarious and humbling horror stories that proved whether it’s an audition for a musical or a play, anything can happen.

Check out Josh Groban tell the story of how he got laughed right out of the room when he auditioned for a certain murderous barber, Zachary Quinto having to ask a director if he’d like “fries with that” a week after not landing a role in said director’s play, and Idina Menzel squealing something she probably shouldn’t have when she choked on a high note. (Can we just have Leslie Odom Jr. croon for us for days?) And really, what could be better than surviving the certain sting of a hilariously bad audition? Well, going on to win a Tony, for one.
