Excellent summary by Hugh of what THE FRONT RUNNER is all about -- it is a thinking piece Unfortunately some of the critics and fans sometimes prefer emotional traps... and pure entertainment ( the latter is for the yearend holidays, if you ask me)...and straightforward story-telling Jo

That shirt does something to me! 😍That and leopard spots/gold (TBFO) and red/gold (Showman) and even yellow ( as in towel)... and as an exception even charcoal grey ( on a business suit) -- suit him very well! He looks great in those shades of the color wheel Also, since he started having Michael Fisher as his fashion stylist -- remember the purple velvet jacket -- his style has become more sophisticated and European-cosmopolitan! He even wore a Dolce & Gabanna suit for the TIFF premiere of THE FRONT RUNNER. Jo

I have read about this from a Reitman fan but thought it was scheduled for sometime in the future. Is Hugh part of this?

Brick red/Paprika/BurntOrange/BurntSienna/whatever shade -- My last artistic conclusion - haha - is ( in contrast to the almost teal blue/aqua in the background screen), it looks like Roland Garros clay However it is called on the color wheel -- Hugh is a real standout with it!

Interview with the ensemble ( Hugh, included) who seem to be a very fine set of actors who are serious in their craft and articulate their views very well!
What is evolving is this kind of a movie is not straightforward story-telling. The intention is to challenge, to prod the audience to think through what has unfolded and how the characters were portrayed, to believe that no conclusion may be what the film demands ( but one is left with many questions and perspectives), and to relate the relevance of the film to real life and current times!
Hugh's character in THE RIVER was very enigmatic; it seems that in THE FRONT RUNNER he is once again rising to the challenge of another character, this time a real-life, living once-public figure who is perceived to be an enigma as well. Hugh has certainly been showing us how varied his many character portrayals ( whether stage or film) is evolving! The hallmark of a great actor!

www.sfgate.com/news/media/Hugh-Jackman-One-Of-The-Most-Satisfying-1337276.phpIt seems Hugh is now finding himself more and more fulfilled with the kind of artistic projects he is now involved in. I think it started with A Steady Rain and The River on Broadway...where he played both an in-your-face boisterous character and an enigmatic Man who could not find love. He loves enigmas ( even the Denny of A Steady Rain found himself at the end as a self-sacrificing father of the family ( so different from his alpha male rogue cop earlier portrayed). On film, The Fountain and The Prestige started him on unusual character roles...Prisoners solidified his acting directions...and even Logan ( which he partly inspired) was more of a character study. While a movie musical focused on family entertainment, he portrayed a man with faults in The Greatest Showman, giving us a role where the lead had flaws. Now comes THE FRONT RUNNER...and later on, another unusual character portrayal (this and the other side -- my enigmatic description of his new role) in BAD EDUCATION. Of course, we also want him back in action/adventure movies ( not necessarily superhero films) and more movie musicals! Jo

Cast impressions and press conference during the showing of the movie at TIFF -- There is talk about journalism ethics -- Just curious -- I wonder how Hugh personally felt about the circumstances surrounding the relationship between Sen Hart and media from Miami Herald and Washington Post? Do you remember when he shared that one reason why he fell out of a journalism career ( and fell into acting) was because of ethical issues that involve the work of a journalist. His example then was he would not be comfortable swiping a photo surreptiously of a person he is investigating...or something to that effect. This movie must have had both professional and personal resonance with him. Of course, journalism's loss is our gain Jo
