This is an old article ( 2014) on how many of the world's population have become generally dichotomized between internet natives and internet immigrants -- www.huffingtonpost.com/jeff-degraff/digital-natives-vs-digita_b_5499606.htmlThe rise of social media influence, mostly traceable to technology opportunities -- has it made the dichotomy more pronounced or has the link bridge made the two segments much closer than before? It is not just the impact on people structures and behavior ( as discussed on the above article) that the supposed dichotomy has been made obvious. Even with issues like how do you treat the two sides of the dichotomy? A separate strategy or a unified strategy especially if you are selling a product or an idea? Or in simply communicating? Our first shared board was organized in 2003. That was only a few years to when the world truly first got connected with the critical technology issue of "Y2K" - it didn't matter whether we were natives or immigrants -- it was a fearsome worldwide potential problem! So, when the first board linked many of us in this kaffee klatch, did we think that some 14 years later that the "immigrants" would continue to thrive in the current culture that the "natives" are mostly familiar with Food for thought Jo ( Internet Immigrant )
