It is the poignancy of the situation and Hugh's strong sense of commitment which gives us the life-affirming joy in watching how this group supported the show of dedication from Hugh Jackman!

The cultural influence of the movie has really been very pervasive!

On May 20, hundreds of stars of radio, TV, film, and social media will flock to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the 25th Annual Billboard Music Awards. The always honest and hilarious Kelly Clarkson is hosting — and if anybody knows about being on the Billboard charts, it’s Clarkson. She’s been on charts all over the globe for over 15 years with 27 of her songs having been on the Hot 100

There are various categories people get nominated for, some of the best known being Best Female Artist, Best Male Artist, and Album of the Year. From Guns N’ Roses to Cardi B, the voting will surely be intense. I broke down some of the more interesting, specific, and more competitive categories being voted on at this year’s Billboard Music Awards to add my own two cents...

What Album Do I Want To See Win? The Greatest Showman

Why: The vocals are out of this world, the production is stellar, and the story it carries resonates with so many. Whether or not you saw the Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, and Zendaya starring movie, its songs are everywhere. The album went straight to No. 1, its radio airplay for a movie musical soundtrack is outstanding, and it’s being sung by kids and adults alike. Why? Because it’s hopeful, whimsical, honest, and captures talent in its most pure form.

No matter how many and how different some of the love shown for the movie and the music -- it is still surprising how it is expressed in so many different ways! Eat your hearts out, Broadway musicals

Never expected to hear FROM NOW ON with an operatic voice

A MILLION DREAMS is fast becoming an anthem of hope for kids!

Where will their youthful dreams take them in the future?

Based only on streamed version -- not very sure about the medium, but The Greatest Showman is way ahead of all the others. Based on CD sales and streaming versions, didn't the album already get certified PLATINUM ( 1 million in the USA) much earlier by the RIAA ?

Unusual choral rendition of THE GREATEST SHOW --

As of May 26, 2018, The Greatest Showman SOUNDTRACK ALBUM moved up 2 places and is now # 5 on Billboard 200. It has been on release for 23 weeks now, peaking at # 1.

Black Panther is # 9 even if it was a newer release ( 14 weeks, peaking at # 1) while Moana is at # 70 ( 78 weeks on release, peaking at # 2)

So, how did it lose the Best Soundtrack Album award at the Billboard Music Awards?!! Was this like the MTV awards where winners are chosen by public vote?

One of the most glorious presentations of the songs THE GREATEST SHOW and a favorite ballad here NEVER ENOUGH -- as background music for the fireworks display at the baccalaureate mass/graduation ceremonies here in Manila. The night graduation ceremonies was at the oldest existing university in Asia, the University of Sto. Tomas, founded in 1611! It is also considered one of the largest Catholic universities ( the largest Catholic university in the world in terms of student population in one campus - 22 hectares) and is well-known for its Schools of Medicine, Arts and Letters, Architecture, Science, Business Administration and a few other academic fields.

Listen to Hugh singing THE GREATEST SHOW and a bit of NEVER ENOUGH at the huge campus of the university, accompanying the fireworks display at the end of graduation ceremonies! I have a feeling there was more of it … but the video was cut short!

Wow, that’s probably the most slam-bang festive university graduation video ever. I don’t think I’ve ever seen fireworks at a graduation ceremony before. What a great idea.

Platinum status for the TGS soundtrack. So happy for Hugh & co. Next stop (I hope): the Grammys!
