My first Thanksgiving Day in America was spent near Boston in Massachusetts -- so that first feast between the Pilgrims and the native Americans was retold to me probably near where it happened. I was lucky to have been hosted by the family ( who lived in Woburn/next to Lexington) of my school roommate at the University of Massachusetts...Decades later, I was able to visit the site where the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock! HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all our American friends...and to all those who celebrate this day of giving Thanks!Jo

You're very welcome, Hugh And thank you, too, for the fine example you have set...and for the joy of performing that you have shared so generously with us! Jo

I have also spent a very traditional Thanksgiving Day celebration a few years back, enjoying the hospitality of my niece's American in-laws who lived in Long Island! *There was watching the Macy's parade *Some football-watching in the early afternoon. *A sumptuous turkey dinner with all the trimmings... and then some! But what I never expected was what followed the main course, for which they had to clear the dinner table from the main courses Something like this -- Apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and all sorts of other pies Maybe I should have rowed and rowed, too Jo
