That is a remarkable acting moment for Hugh Jackman! No spoken lines, simply acting through the eyes and facial muscles!
Of course, Rebecca Ferguson ( with the singing dubbed by Loren Allred) was stunning and equally expressive with her facial acting ( lip movement will make you believe she is the one really singing) -- and her body language was dramatic. She was seducing the audience. Not only did she seduce the audience but more importantly, she seduced Barnum into believing she is the solution to his ambition towards greater success and to acceptance by high society!
In some future movies, I would like to see Hugh and Rebecca team up once more -- especially in a dramatic/action movie taking place in Europe ( ha - I invented a film project for them) . I wonder if THE GOOD SPY ( if Hugh takes that on) can qualify?

He looks more like a Plymouth Pilgrim...than a Connecticut Showman

I wish the movie had been longer than its 1:45 running time. Maybe in some parallel universe it’s 2:19, with Hugh’s ballad restored along with other cuts. But unfortunately not on this planet.

I had wondered at the screening time she mentioned -- maybe it included all the pre-screening trailers The review was written in mid-January when people were just discovering the magic And it seemed written from the heart! Jo

Did they ever think that the movie's fab Opening Number, THE GREATEST SHOW, would inspire so much enthusiasm, inventiveness, and sheer joy with schoolkids

The effect on very young people is amazing and likely totally unexpected -- but how sweet!

I always amazed to see this kind of social media post often -- the effect on young people is incredible!
Not just the songs and the dancing and character portrayals ...but hopefully, they will carry some of the positive messages when they grow up!

Literally watching ( and probably singing) in the rain Hammersmith is one of the suburban areas one passes from Heathrow airport to central London.

Jackman/Wolverine is of course The Greatest Showman and The Boy from Oz and Curly from Oklahoma, as well as the singing/dancing Oscars and Tonys host -- no further proof needed! Mutant Marsden/Cyclops has shown talent for similar superpowers, albeit he has only been in Hairspray...and no Broadway! Cumming/Nightcrawler has the goods, as the MC in Cabaret! Maybe mutant Grammer/Beast,too -- he sings but can he dance? Not too sure about McKellen/Magneto even if he was a sort of singing/dancing clock in Beauty and the Beast. But he has signed up for the film adaptation of CATS...so Can't think of anyone from the distaff side yet.
