Occasionally, we come across Hugh Jackman talking about serious subjects other than about his professional career, his social advocacies, and his love of family. This video is all about his thoughts ( abstract or pragmatic), feelings, and personal philosophy on the subject of spirituality. I did not even know this video existed ( or was this part of the project "Who" or "What is God?" with which he was associated) and stumbled on it by accident. I had once read an interview ( Premiere Magazine) where he shared some spiritual views - some of which he repeats here - and it left me with such an impressed view of him as a person! www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGI5A8j4ej4It is a long video ( close to 36 minutes) but what makes it even sound longer is that one has to think deeply on the profound and personally meaningful statements that he makes - as if one wishes for him to pause so one can digest what he has shared. It is not so much how profound the statements are but how he puts his thoughts into practical perspectives and sounding very sincere and honest about them. To some extent, it makes me understand a little of how a film like The Fountain might have touched an inner core in him. I will want to watch it a couple of times -- and maybe then, I can fully appreciate how deep a man he is! No other professional performer has created such an impression on me - maybe because this is completely unexpected ! Somehow, I think his story does not stop here -- beyond his career, he will probably begin to seek more meaning in his life... But that would be another chapter...which we may not be privileged to share any more. Jo
