www.broadwayworld.com/article/VIDEO-Sir-Ian-McKellen-Sits-Down-with-Christiane-Amanpour-20180728It won't play other than the USA -- I was lucky to have seen it on the CNN telecast itself. Such insights from Ian McKellen especially on his love of the theatre and his stagecraft. Just like how Hugh feels about the theatre, to him it is the audience connection which makes live performance so much more rewarding than performing in front of the camera. His insights on why Shakespeare resonates up to now and on so many levels is very persuasive. I find his acting much more natural than say Lawrence Olivier. I would have loved to have seen him in that play with Patrick Stewart. Too bad there has not been a chance for him to perform with Hugh on film as Patrick was able to do so in LOGAN. Hugh would certainly learn a lot from an acting master. Maybe years from now, Hugh could perform KING LEAR and apply what he might have learned from Ian McKellen in their time together while filming XMen 1-3? Btw, I do like Christiane Amanpour's work as a journalist -- she is very well-informed and has deep insights on what is happening around the world. She asks the most probing questions but can provoke very interesting replies, without being at all abrasive. She covers such a range of topics -- from geopolitics to the arts! Wish Hugh Jackman would be interviewed someday by Ms. Amanpour! Or they could sit around the table with other personalities from different sectors for a very interesting round-table discussion. Jo

Christiane Amanpour was the commencement speaker when my son graduated from Georgia State University in 2010.
