Well he certainly didn't miss any available drama classes growing up did he! It was the perfect stage act performed in front of a billion viewers. Demonstrated poise, balance, choreography, timing, delivery, comic sense, strength, agility and all while singing for nearly 8 minutes. There is only one Hugh Jackman and you are The Wolverine.

It could very well apply to his performance in "TheMan TheMusic TheShow"!


It just came to me that the reason why he is different from other concert performers -- is his ability to make the audience smile and laugh...as well as to make them cry! And this happens because the surprising element in his show ( we take his triple-threat gifts as givens) in his act are his wit and comedic timing... and his ability to plumb the depths of emotions when delivering his narrative. He is a very good actor and this shows in how he delivers his lines - he knows how to pause for emphasis or how to provide tension ( "Is he or isn't he?"), he knows how to improvise because of his good-natured wit, he knows when to be appreciative of his audience and when to give others full credit ( he never sounds too full of himself), he highlights emotional and resonant moments without being maudlin, he teases, he can brag( Gaston) and he can be utterly humble ( "From now on...") and he can make us cry at the end ( "Once before I Go) and he can even make us be part of his singing ensemble. It is the totality of emotions that he draws from his audience members that makes his show and his performance truly memorable! You feel refreshed and happy!

Well he sold out the Capitol One Arena in DC, which has a capacity of 20,356 seats, which is more than the Hollywood Bowl's 17,500. And I would anticipate he would be more popular in Hollywood in DC. I have to say the show was excellent. Better than I even anticipated.

I have just returned home from seeing Hugh Jackman here in San Diego.......and I am still on something of a high from this marvelous evening. What can I say?

Well. He sang. He danced. He played piano. He told stories. He stepped aside to let the other singers and dancers and musicans shine. He came off the stage to interact with audience members. He captivated those of us lucky enough to be in the PACKED arena. My favorite bits? First, a medley of songs from movie musicals. Second, what I believe was a "Dream Song" performed by four Indigenous Australians.
