Cry...and lots of it -- as one views this powerful dance number to the music of FROM NOW ON ( Hugh Jackman's singing featured at the end) - http://instagram.com/p/CHDP1jkHLu3 It is very heartwarming how people who provide the heart and soul of the theatre put up their petition to save their art! Jo

I have seen quite a lot of shows at the West End back then...and I do recognize some of the theatres and the streets where I once walked excitedly to the see a show. It was at one such time that I had an unexpected chance to see the revival of OKLAHOMA! I can even remember that night walking from the theatre at Covent Garden ( where Oklahoma! transferred from the RNT) to Leicester Square ( where movie premieres are held, like Les Miserables) where our hotel was...and talking about the big suprise that the stage production gave me ( I used to think Oklahoma!, in its film version, was the one I least liked of R&H film musicals). Didn't know the lead... but he seemed to have a future on stage with his commanding presence and powerful voice Btw, I saw LES MISERABLES there both at its original theatre ( shown on the clip) the PALACE...and at QUEENS (also shown on clip). Most memorable was seeing the building which housed both a theatre and our hotel ( we could see the stagedoor entrance from our window)...and where I saw ASPECTS OF LOVE at the Prince of Wales Theatre and met Michael Ball's voice and himself Jo

Just think --
if there had been no British Theatre which would host OKLAHOMA!, would Hugh Jackman ( who was in the Curly role for one year) have been discovered for Hollywood? XMen producer Lauren Shuler Donner saw him in the production in London ( either at the RNT or the Lyric theatre)...and that eventually led to an audition...and the role of Wolverine.
