There's competition among the troupe ( cast and crew and all other teams) on the best Christmas Door decorations. Check out Instagram Stories of liselong -- www.instagram.com/liselong(I am partial to the Pick-a-Little entry) Hey, did you ever stay in a dorm? I stayed in one in Massachusetts when I was doing grad work... and I remember we had a competition for Best Door Decoration The theme was Christmas Carols My roommate and I decided to depart from the usual merry ones... and did a lovely "Silent Night" theme. But it was fun putting them up. Jo

http://instagram.com/p/CmhsUu9PBN7 Christopher Radko sold his company 15 years ago and no longer sell ornaments under this brand. He is now connected with "Heartfully Yours". I have collected a few of the Radko ornaments. I also bought on eBay one of the Hawaiian shirts ( as a memento of The Boy From Oz). Jo

Theatre or the stage is the actor's medium! Film belongs to the director. How can one say an actor is fully accomplished unless he can do theatre? Someday, we hope to see Hugh Jackman do a dramatic show which fully harnesses all his theatrical gifts! Jo

Maybe, in a sense, we've already seen a glimpse of it in Hugh Jackman's rendition of VALJEAN'S SOLILOQUY!

In Formula 1 - they practice and practice to achieve certain time standards. If they botch it, the car can lose its original position in the grid. That can mean losing the championship, including the financial implications & the prestige that can go with it.
There have also been dangerous or unexpected pitstops -- *the car bursting into flames ( more in the past) *the car wheels going over the feet of a crew member *the equipment to put on the wheels would not work *a major replacement of a key part is needed because of a track crash or accident *the car release is unexpectedly delayed
What about for backstage costume changes --
*Hugh once talked about the 18-inch tear in his pants...and he shouted that he needed a new pair of pants.... He made the costume change on time! *Sometimes, he will just have to bear the accident on stage ( like when he split his pants in THE RIVER) and complete the scene on stage...until he could slip inside the "bedroom" set where a new pair awaited him. *I have always thought that most of the costume changes for the lead are done in his dressing room. It seems the undressing and the dressing up happens just in the wings. But with that very dark scenario, I wonder how they can be sure that everything is correcly put in place. Too dark! *How about Sutton - does she undress and dress up also in public view? Or maybe she has a special screen to do that. *Given how large the cast is (although they don't all have to have costume changes or not that often) - it must be a madhouse. *No time to go to the bathroom? We know what happened to Hugh in his early theatre days ( Beauty and the Beast). *Do these clothes assistants also have understudies -- if one is indisposed, someone has to take his place or the costume change may go awry. *Do they also rehearse the undressing and dressing procedure ( like F-1) to make sure that they have established the right rhythm?
Aahhhh...
all for our viewing pleasure!

I once had an exchange with Hugh's dresser for The Boy From Oz. We ran into each other conversation-wise on the theatre board ATC. I understood from him that as dresser, he also had to take care of Hugh's costumes - maybe pressing them if they needed it? Maybe in a large cast/crew setup like TMM, they may already have someone taking care of those details?
Film sets probably have different requirements and setups. Sometimes a scene can be shot in many repetitive takes... but only for short filming scenes. But costumes and makeup can be more elaborate and may take hours to put on, if complex.
