On the old Hugh Jackman board (before we came here to Proboards) Hugh’s dresser was a member. I believe his name may have been Matt, but it’s been a long time!

Someone told me about this but I did not want to post it as it might have been a private matter. But I heard it was a very generous gift to each one. Jo

Nice comments from Kathy Vothko ( who substituted at the last moment from covid-sick Sutton Foster in the early days of previews (Keep SWIPING) ... and to whom Hugh gave that memorable speech about swings and understudies!). http://instagram.com/p/Cnwy19hOYhv My reply to her story

Shuler Hensley is in another musical. HERCULES at the Paper Mill Playhouse.
It sounds like Hugh went to see his friend/colleague in the show, based on his Instagram comment about the show being " a fun night".
I've been to Paper Mill Playhouse once ( to chase White Christmas). It is a huge auditorium-like theater!

Look who is doing it -- Winthrop ( aka Benjamin Pajak) singing "Just To Get My Name in Lights" Except he doesn't look like the wide-eyed boy from a small town in Oz ( called Tenterfield) -- but more like a wise-cracking boy with a New York aura PS: Be sure to watch till the end of the clip. I wonder if Hugh ever knew about this Jo

A message from Benjamin! Banjamin's official post on his instagram account showing him & Hugh had this message -- Hugh and Benjamin not just featured in the show as buddies... but there seemed to be some instances where the bond was also strong off the stage -- *when Hugh have Benjamin a birthday gift ( signed shirt of Tom Brady) *when he was teaching Benjamin how to be Deadpool *when Benjamin gave him the sour candy *when he gave Benjamin vegemite During the closing show, Benjamin seeemd openly weeping during Hugh's speech. He was also choking when he blew the final notes off his cornet. Jo

I saw Marie Mullen in The Saviour a couple of months ago at the Irish Repertory Theatre in NYC. She was brilliant in what was (mostly) a solo show.

x.com/hugh_ig/status/1708250675455422976?s=20Good to see the company of The Music Man getting excellent roles in other shows. Philip is one of the key cast of Hadestown, playing the role of Hades. If you saw REMINISCENCE with Hugh & Rebecca Ferguson, that story is partly inspired by the Greek story of Orpheus & Eurydice. (and even quoted by Nick Bannister) I saw HADESTOWN in 2022, with the original cast. It won the Tony for Best Musical. It is a modern adaptation of the Greek story of Persephone who was taken by Hades to the lower earth ruled by Hades, thus the name Hadestown ( causing the anger of mother Demeter/Ceres who condemned mother earth to two seasons, one good and one dry & where there would be no good harvest). Eurydice was also taken to Hadestown. And Orpheus was in search of his love Eurydice for a very long time. Eventually, he finds her in Hadestown but he could only take her back home on the condition that she would not look back on their journey home... We all know what happens... from the Greek myth. Jo
