Came here to say this. Was one of my first “big” interviews and I was green and nervous and he was so kind & giving of his time and even offered to take a photo with me (I never would have asked). First rate gentleman.

I’ve sung with him twice. At the Oscars as part of the Les Mis medley, he went down the line of 20 ensemble members and individually introduced himself to each of us. Years later I sang with him on GMA, and shyly mentioned the Oscars performance and he was just LOVELY about it.
