I think I have finally understood the wear-the-costume mentality of fanboys


It is their own desire to identlfy completely with the superhero, maybe even think that the superpowers may have been passed down to them. In the past generations, the only costume I remember is how brothers or cousins would look for a piece of cloth (maybe even a small square piece of cloth...tie the corners around the neck... go up a table or chair --
and voila, he thinks he is SUPERMAN flying ( he jumps down from wherever the little boy is perched)... Then the illusion is complete -- he has become a real superhero!

With Wolverine, the first step is get those pairs of claws to put on one's hands. Maybe mess up the hair a bit

Now, with the yellow costume and maybe mask, the thinks he can now be Wolvie, complete with adamantium in his body and in his claws

On another film hero -- look at how many young boys put on a hat (preferably tall black one), something like a red jacket, and get anything resembling a cane... and voila -- he is the Greatest Showman!

The movies are great for make-believe dreams for young boys... and girls!

So, instead of the Deadpool-Wolverine as having a gutless film, it will actually veer towards more solid storytelling.

Hugh already knows what the storyline and the characterizations... and Wolverine's role... in all of it. The script that was being used for earlier filming was already set and was supposedly with his approval.
