It looks like the cover story for Hugh Jackman in the October issue of TOWN AND COUNTRY will feature an interview with both him and Deb --

He sometimes sports claws, but that isn't how Deborra-Lee Furness likes to view husband Hugh Jackman – not that she doesn't appreciate the variety.

"I like him clean-shaven. But I like him all ways: chubby, muscley, skinny," she tells October's Town&Country, on sale Sept. 17. "I'm always having affairs."

Interviewed with Furness, 57, for the magazine's cover article, PEOPLE's 2008 Sexiest Man Alive talks about how he was initially hesitant about proposing to her.

"I decided, I won't ask her to marry me for six months," Jackson, 44, recalls. "Then after four months I thought, That's the most ridiculous rule!"

They have been married since 1996 and have two children, Oscar and Ava.

While her husband acts on stage and screen – his latest movie, The Prisoners, opens Sept. 20 – Furness serves as a board member of the Worldwide Orphan Foundation to help create a National Adoption Awareness Week, "to shine a light on the fact that there are 153 million orphans in the world," she says. "If that were a country, it would be the ninth-largest in the world, just ahead of Russia."


The Shirt Off His Back
Jackman is hardly a stranger to charitable acts, literally taking the sweaty T-shirt off his back after his stage shows to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. His castoffs fetch anywhere from $5,000 and $25,000 each per show – even if the Tony winner is often left standing on stage bare-chested.

"It's because you get them so excited," Furness tells him of the large sums he collects.

"I'd sell my soul for a good cause," he says back to her.

Notes his wife: "He'd be a great auctioneer, if the acting doesn't pan out."

Just wondering -- do celebrities get to keep the clothes and accessories ( except jewelry) they use for pictorials ...He is wearing a Hermes sweater and Zegna jeans ( and a Piaget watch) -- but he makes them look very casually ( not snobbishly) elegant! I think after a substitute career as an auctioneer, Hugh can still do high fashion modelling

From what I understand, celebrities don't get to keep everything from their photo shoots but occasionally can keep one or two pieces. I think it has to do with the fact that magazines don't technically own the clothing; they borrow it from fashion houses instead.

But the fashion houses also get free publicity - their items are worn by people who can show them off well or are well-known and there is a usual mention of the name of the company. And who will wear slightly-worn apparel ( including shoes) -- these are not going to be bought by luxury house customers?? Maybe they go on deep discount houses for luxe items -- just like some high-fashion items worn at fashion shows ( I do remember reading about such discount houses in Paris)

Just curious...although, it is funny that after clothes ( such as a t-shirt) have been worn by Hugh Jackman, they seem to have earned more worth, with some DNA on it giggle

In most major cities in US there are 2nd hand clothing shops that feature these seldom worn designer items. Unfortunately for the average human being, the women's clothes worn by movie stars tend to be very small sizes. smiley-signs066 - If bought you have two choices - Go on a severe diet or save as an investment for sale in 50 years.

Jackman, at Toronto to promote his thriller Prisoners, has made four films back-to-back with three of the movies away from home.

"I'm taking a break from between now and Christmas," Jackman said.

His job will be to make lunches, drop the kids off at school, and cook.

"So far I've been off a few weeks and I've played a lot of Monopoly," he said.

But don't expect gym junkie Jackman to end up with a beer gut by Christmas.

He plans to go to the gym three times a week.

*Of course he will have to do some additional promotion for PRISONERS ( talk shows, maybe more press junkets, 2 European festivals including receiving lifetime achievement awards, the Hollywood premiere on Sept 12)

*Then there is the October 12 One-Night-Only show ( and rehearsals)

*And maybe he is already learning some of the musical score for Houdini, in time for the reading in December

*But I wonder what new scripts he is reading now??

** Someone tweeted seeing him at the airport - maybe back to NYC? Will he watch the finals of the US Open? I just saw Sean Connery ( not recognizable - he must be in his 80's now) sitting with Ben Stiller in the audience for the semifinals.

Lingering paparazzi are proving to be more of a blessing than a curse for Hugh Jackman.

Not only did the Prisoners star reveal that a photog helped him find his lost son recently, but another paparazzo came to Jackman's rescue this week when he tried to buy a toy for his son in Berlin and his credit card wouldn't work.

After noticing the 44-year-old thesp left the store toy-less Thursday, the paparazzo bought the item for the actor and surprised him with the gift.

And Jackman, who was all smiles as he accepted the toy, seemed to really appreciate the gesture.

I don't know if it's just a poor choice of wording by the author or if it was translated from another language but the way it was written gave me pause. While the paparazzo story is very sweet and I'm glad Hugh got the item he was looking for, I have to cringe when I think of poor Oscar. Being the mother and grandmother of boys I can just imagine the kind of teasing a 13 yr old boy will take from his friends when they read that his daddy was out buying him a toy! It better be a great present or Hugh will be back in the dog house for sure! LOL!
