It was probably more a game than a toy per se. Could be that toys and games are under a single heading in some stores. Ellen My comment may have been confusing smiley-signs002 I know the item purchased was probably perfect and surely something Oscar would want to have. However, knowing young teenage boys, the 'buying a toy for his son' line in the article will be cringe worthy & may likely generate typical teasing from other teens he knows. This was not a knock on Hugh but on the writer of the article.Sue

Are paps dressed like that -- they look New York-touristy to me, esp the guy in white shorts and blue cap Unless the new paps look different these days? The paparazzo who gave the toy to Hugh in London is still dressed in typical apparel. Who knows

The distinction is the expensive camera equipment they haul around. These are not passersby with iPhones.

Could be - except for that guy in shorts ... Hugh says that he is really pretty used to cameras clicking, whether expensive cameras from pros or tourists ( remember when he was crossing Columbus Circle from the Mandarin to maybe Trump International when he did that interview with the Australian lady TV host not so long ago -- the tourists's cameras/phones were clicking away ).

Hugh Jackman, sports nut! There's mention that he is assistant to the assistant to the coach of his son's soccer (aka "football" outside the USA, where it is known, too, as "the beautiful game") team

The above interview was featured on the official FIFA.com site -- Hugh must be thrilled! www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=2190620/index.htmlCheck out the video clip. The first time I heard the cheer : "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie - oi, oi, oi!" was many years ago, somewhere in Munich, Germany where we were brought to a local beerhouse ( this was the early part of Oktoberfest) and those cheers would erupt between singing, toasting and drinking of huge mugs of beers ( just as you see it held by German waitresses in tourism ads!). There must have been a huge number of Aussies <aussie> <aussie> <aussie> in that happy group! Me, I chickened out and opted for a coke ( lame! ) Jo

The World Cup will culminate in Brazil and played from June 12 to July 13, 2014!
Hmm...I wonder what Hugh will be doing at that time?Btw, so far there have been 4.5 million ticket requests for a smaller number of available seats ( 3.3 million) at the World Cup ( held at different stadiums and places in Brazil). One of my favorite films is a World War 2 movie about an international soccer team from the Allied forces playing against Germany - It is called VICTORY, is directed by John Huston, and stars Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine, Max von Sydow, among others and a lot of soccer stars including the Brazilian great, Pele, who called the sport " the beautiful game", if I am not mistaken. I always watch it if it comes on cable TV once in a while - it is part comedy and part a tribute to the game and to sportsmanship ( the German general who arranged the match because of his love for the game secretly admired the Allies Team). Whoa--Deb has really interesting shoes. They don't seem like sneakers or wedgie sandals. Very different for her.
And can it be that Hugh is absolutely clean shaven, not a whisker to behold? Maybe he shaved at the station, LOL.

Clean-shaven is Hugh's incognito persona. He is easily recognized with his facial hair Jo

Actually, it wasn't all that warm. Perhaps he had just come from a workout and needed to cool off. As I do now. Come to think of it, was that taken yesterday? If so, it must have been before they took the train to D.C., where Deb is to be honored for her adoption work. Ellen

Hey, if they ever change that law about the "natural-born citizen" requirement, I could easily see Deb tossing her Donna Karan-designed hat into the ring someday. (In the meantime, there's always PM of Australia.)

I like Hugh clean shaven--the scruff is sexy, but I don't like that he never shaves his neck! Nancy
