Hugh does seem to be in a lighter and happier mood.

Is that a New York license plate on the parked car to the right? Hmm... Jo

Slightly different photo on Instagram. http://instagram.com/p/C1PCkPQuZJd Is that a toboggan or sled that is by the window on the right side? But there is no snow outside? Where could Hugh be? Jo

Obviously, as there is no whiff of snow outside The courtyard reminds me of one of the dorms in my old campus at U0fMass. Could it also be the courtyard of where he used to stay in Tribeca before he returned to England for resumption of fiming? There are a lot of brick buildings in the area? Although that courtyard is a sad looking space and such a lot of wasted space in Manhattan? There is a teenaged nutcracker (or drummer boy) on the left...and a toboggan* on the right -- somewhere in a temperate zone -- obviously not a Christmas to be spent in the tropics *Toboggan, it seems, is a word used only by New Englanders ( where they do have a lot of snow, including hilly backyards - -my roommate's sister would use one then, after a fairly thick snowfall on their hilly backyard somewhere in Massachusetts). I do miss the snow some... but I only want to see it physically for a week or so. Jo (Child of the tropics)

Our yard has a nice hill for sledding whenever it does snow here, rarely. Nancy

Barely any snow here in winter (maybe one day!) although a few years we’ve had blizzards since 1973! And I believe that’s just a drummer boy, not a nutcracker. 😉 Nancy

The Christmas tree in the building lobby is NY. I know the building. There was no doubt he was in NY as of Saturday at the latest.

The date with Pat Schoenfeld, as perceived by mass media. www.mirror.co.uk/3am/us-celebrity-news/hugh-jackman-reunites-former-date-31746368The reporter did not probably know about the close association of Hugh with Pat's late husband Gerry Schoenfeld. Mr.Schoenfeld, called Mr. Broadway for his influence in the Broadway scene, had gravitated to Hugh during his run of The Boy from Oz. He would often walk from his office ( Shubert Organization) which was a very short distance from the Imperial and would watch Hugh towards the end of the show. He would fondly call Hugh as "You", IIRC. He would often tell Hugh to forget Hollywood and stay on Broadway all the time, often suggesting projects that Hugh could pursue. Jo

He was not alone. It seems there are 3 other place settings in the group. Jo

From the Man himself -- Why would a security guard stop him? He seems to be standing by the elevators to go to the rinkside restaurants, but not inside the elevators. Hugh loves the place. When he was in rehearsals for TBFO way back when ... he took little Oscar to teach him some ice skating. But Hugh did not have money with him. He had to ask the people in charge to wait for his wife so they can get paid for the skating fees Jo
