Can't believe Hugh was once rejected as a male model. In that photo on top, he even stands like a model. Gorgeous pix. Thanks, Jo.

As usual The Daily Mail got most of the coverage wrong. This was a trip to church and apparently Hugh and the kids met Deb there. Neither the pap sites or the Mail mention whether it was a normal service or an appearance by Deb for some reason.

Jo, I think you mean 2003. Ah, typos. Maybe I'm out of touch on teen fashions, but do 13-year-old boys wear yellow boots? I don't think my son would have ever considered that color. I know they're Uggs, but.... Ellen

Oops - 2003, it was! A very memorable moment! I had just seen Hugh and Deb get out of the exit ( I was lucky to have been let out in the exit near the stage and the media were interviewing Bernadette and Nathan, Hugh's co-hosts...and Hugh and Deb came out of the stagedoor)... I thought that was it -- but they stopped! Mum Fay greeted them with Oscar and were right there in front of me in a family huddle. I stood with two teenaged girls who were both agape at the sight of Wolverine ( I think ) and they looked at me seeking confirmation. I just nodded my head -- and there were the three of us fangirling - LOL! That wasn't the end of it. As I was walking towards Duffy Sq, on the way home to my niece's place on W48th, guess who were walking right in front of me -- Hugh was obviously headed to the Imperial and Deb and her Mum with Oscar on Deb's hip also walking in the same direction. Hugh was in a hurry, as that was probably before the next performance of TBFO. Jo

Ellen My own 13yo boy is no fashion maven, but based on what I see of his school mates and on-line interests, I would say Oscar has developed his own sense of style, not unlike his mother.

Hugh did an episode of the ICONOCLASTS series a couple of years ago with neighbor-chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, remember? The series featured profiles of celebs who march to the beat of their own drummer.

Nancy Okay, I know I'm a pretty new poster, so maybe you're joking or something, but this seems to be a pretty mean-spirited remark to make about any 13-year-old boy. What a tough age that is for everybody, and he's blessed to have supportive parents who are encouraging both their kids to find their own places in the world. From some of Hugh's comments on Oscar's interests and the reading material I see him carrying (or sometimes Hugh carrying for him), I can only DREAM my own 13-year-old boy would be so bright and inquisitive about the world beyond video games and youtube. Debating style choices with a teenager seems like a waste of effort.

Both Oscar & Ava look like normal kids to me - its refreshing to see children of public people looking normal. Please step back from comments about children (anyone's children)and their style choices.

Sorry if you think we can't say anything derogotory about Hugh, Deb, or the kids. I love Hugh, but could never understand why his kids always look like they were dressed by a committee. P.S. Nobody expects a debate here. Nancy

Hi, Nancy - Thanks for your response. Believe me, I am as non-confrontational as they come, and I'm honestly not looking for a debate!
I just felt strongly enough about this that I needed to respond. "He always looks awful" is really an inappropriate remark to make about any child in a public forum, no matter what. I see another poster said essentially the same thing after I did, and two others "liked" both our posts.
Nobody is questioning your love of Hugh and his family - we all feel the same way here! To the point that sometimes we might believe that nobody besides us will ever read these words. I was just suggesting that maybe you should be a little more careful in choosing your words, at least when it comes to talking about Hugh's family.

Rugby...cricket...debating...musical -- that pretty much sums him up, doesn't it? The child is indeed the father of the man. And what an adorable pic. Great find!
