I guess I never looked that closely at the roots. Well, at any rate, given her preferences, I don't think there's any danger of Hugh's suddenly popping up with a Johnny Depp-type head of blond hair. Ellen

This is from the Q&A for CHAPPIE -- he was asked a multitude of questions I have put a double ** to identify his replies easily.

I still say he was robbed!
But I am glad I was able to follow (on IMDB and here) his full journey from rehearsals to the Oscars of the film adaptation!

To match the answer to the question, you really have to read from the bottom up! Alma

It wasn't a regular media interview, but a twitter Q&A, hence the sequence will show the response after the question, as the internet page scrolls. It is like being in a chat room. LOL - it took me almost half an hour to make the Q&A less cumbersome to read. I had to edit many extraneous items. I forgot to say that it needed a bottom to top approach to read it Jo

Interesting to note that he has added CLINT EASTWOOD and ROBERT REDFORD among friends he has made in the past. There have been no film projects or advocacies that he has worked with either of them that I know of.

Everyone has heard that story - because Hugh has retold it a number of times In more recent times, they met at the TONYs backstage last year...but no indications they are such good friends. Hugh has also lived on the West Coast only very briefly ( filming The Prestige)...unless he frequented Carmel? The friendship with Robert Redford has also been kept very discreetly. Hugh never went to Sundance, has he? I guess Hugh does keep some secrets very well Jo

This paragraph has been picked up by so many internet sites and media outlets ...and beyond One filmsite picked up 52 feedbacks (Coming Soon) - save for a few negative ones, the subject continues to fascinte comic book fans! Although, honestly, I think the comment to Deb by Hugh was made half in jest I wonder what the fanboys who came to see THE RIVER made of it, as it was a role that was completely contradictory to the much more flamboyant WOLVERINE wolverine. It is somewhat sad that many film fans are not able to appreciate that Hugh takes other changing-gears challenges when he is onstage. Jo

Didn't know where to put this. Hugh is supposed to be on the Dr. Oz show on May 7th. Just thought everyone would want to watch.

In case you missed this on the WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT HUGH thread, I am reposting this article from CIGARAFICIONADO -- Thanks to the link from JackmansLanding -- www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/no-limits-18035
*I wonder if some of things mentioned by the article's author came from research ( such as the long-gestating CAROUSEL project still being a possibility... and Hugh's participation in the 2016 movie APOCALYPSE) or did Hugh confirm these items himself?
*Did the author mean "Valjean's Soliloquy" and not "Who Am I", as the heart-wrenching song in the film adaptation of Les Miserables? Someone once called the Soliloquy as Hugh's Oscar moment from the movie.
*Was Bryan Singer prompted by Lauren Shuler Donner ( who saw Oklahoma!) to look at the tape of Oklahoma! when he needed to recast the Wolverine role, after Dougray Scott dropped out? Didn't Hugh say that he had to undergo many auditions before Singer asked to meet with him.
*Interesting that one of the factors which Singer considered was "the weight of his voice". It is usually never mentioned but that Wolverine gruffness is helped by Hugh's deep-sounding voice when he lowers his speaking voice range.
*Sting gives the new and insightful view of Hugh. He mentions that Hugh's voice has an operatic quality ( and this coming from a singer and songwriter like Sting). This is the second time I have read something similar mentioned. When Hugh was filming Van Helsing, he was using his free time to train with a male opera singer in preparation for TBFO ( I guess more from how to do sustained singing, how to do proper techniques, etc) and the opera singer told Hugh that had Hugh done it earlier, he could have trained as an opera singer.
*Hugh went to Cuba for the millennial? Hmm... all I could remember from that time was how "Y2K" was going to affect banking and other aspects of daily living. LOL!
*His second incident getting hurt in The River was never publicized...Btw, I like how he said that he liked the play because it challenges the actors and the audience. Yes, it was a very thought-provoking piece!
*It seems that Hugh also feels that there is also an emotional component to acting out Wolverine! Is it the dilemma that faces Wolverine occasionally and leads him to question certain things? I wonder what kind of storyline they will chose for his farewell portrayal? *People always remark about his physical presence when they get to meet him!
*It seems to me that Hugh is continuously layering on his acting craft as he takes on varied projects on film and stage. There is usually a reason why he takes on certain roles on both mediums. The experience with THE RIVER has taken him to deeper introspection in interpreting a role, just as a role like Keller Dover has taken him to a different level of a test of humanity.
On the other hand, I would also like to see him take on one or two roles that look at the comedic aspect of life.

Actually, more sports-oriented than anything else, this 2013 interview was at the Zurich Film Festival where Hugh was honored and Prisoners was also premiered.

Watch for coming issue of PEOPLE Magazine, for a brief feature on Hugh.
Scanned image, courtesy of Jackman's Landing --
Is this a prelude ( could he be a repeat title winner?) -- maybe not, but it is nice for them to acknowledge that Hugh does deserve the title!

Re People's SMA, I agree that Hugh should repeat--but there's no chance this year. The magazine seems to go by who's had a recent megahit movie (PAN unfortunately does not qualify) or is a high-profile TV or social media star. Based on those criteria, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd re-crown Matt Damon (THE MARTIAN) or give a first nod to Daniel Craig (SPECTRE is a big hit) or John Hamm (coming off a capper of a "Mad Men" year).
Any other guesses?
