From an interview with Giuliana Rancic (posted today) about who she likes to interview on the Red Carpet:
"This year's Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris is pretty fun—I juggled with him on the red carpet once. I'm also obsessed with Hugh Jackman. He's the perfect example of a celebrity who knows how to work the red carpet and knows what people want to see. He's a real entertainer."

Even paps have good things to say:
THE BEST CELEBRITY: There’s one star who Larsen loves to take photos of, not necessarily because he can sell the pics for big bucks, but rather because the actor is such a pleasure to deal with. “Hugh Jackman is the nicest guy in Hollywood,” Larsen said. “He is incredibly nice. I gave my video camera to my wife once to film while I was getting pictures of Hugh and she was saying, ‘You’re beautiful’, and he was having fun and said, ‘You’re not so bad yourself’.”

So why hasn't he appeared in another Allen film? I wonder if he was asked.

Wasn't sure where this blog post would best fit, but this seems appropriate. It starts with a recap of Hugh's life and career and then relates it to some positive life advice (or creating a "fearless brand" for yourself, as they put it). It covers a lot of familiar ground, but I enjoyed the writer's conclusions. brandingforresults.com/hugh-jackman/

Hugh is such a role model.
Thanks, Sue
Has Hugh been so sure of himself even when he was young?
It is odd of me...but somehow I thought of this letter that Hugh writes to his 16-year old self --

This is actually from a review of the newly-opened revival of AN AMERICAN IN PARIS on Broadway, with Washington Post singing praises of its leading man ( a ballet dancer turned musical theatre actor for this show). But a description relating to Hugh is quite spot on -- www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/worlds-converge-with-grace-in-an-american-in-paris-on-broadway/2015/04/12/69f95604-e13e-11e4-ae0f-f8c46aa8c3a4_story.htmlIn fact, Hugh's magnetic presence combines his natural showmanship with a confident command of the stage, and a great dose of his natural charm, good looks, and sex appeal. His athleticism is also remarkable when he dances, partly because of his long career as an action hero which has honed his ability to move well and rhythmically ...and perhaps derived from the skills of movement which he developed while being a young athlete and which has now translated into other sports that he loves. Plus how many tall people can move with such grace on stage ( to me, at the moment only Tommy Tune comes to mind)? One can also glean how much he seems to enjoy himself onstage that translates into an exhilarating joy of performing! Can't wait for his return to Broadway, in a musical show focusing on the dance art! Random Hugh mention on this morning's Fox5 morning show with Greg and Rosanna. It had to do with a story on a woolverine* chewing through metal bars on his cage in the Newark Liberty Airport cargo area. Both co-hosts thought--as Hugh once did, I think--that the woolverine was a fictitious animal, dreamed up for comic books and movies. Rosanna asked, "Did they call Hugh Jackman?" Then they showed that ultra-ripped, sepia-toned photo that I think was making the Internet rounds during promotion of THE WOLVERINE. Greg comments, "Boy, is that guy ripped! Is that photoshopped? I don't think so."
Nice way to start my day.
*Note: When I spelled w'verine the correct way, a silly-looking icon popped up. I don't know how to disable it. Hence, the deliberate misspelling.

Spell it with a capital W -- as in Wolverine

Ah, thanks, Jo. Still seems odd that the animal must be initially capped.

Thanks to Jackman's Landing for the link -- www.cigaraficionado.com/webfeatures/show/id/no-limits-18035After reading the article, I thought this was more of a "What They Say About Hugh" than anything else. Of course, there are also some thoughts shared by Hugh, but there are some strong impressions of the man given by some of his professional colleagues and friends.

From The Washington Post 5/15. A former late-night show writer discusses:
But the truth is that the vast majority of celebs who come on these shows are not the best conversationalists. Less politely, they are boring. They’re there to promote a movie and leave. Asked what they think of the latest trade agreement, they’d freeze up more than Tom Brady when he’s asked about deflated footballs. A lot of guests are film actors who submerge themselves into the characters they play. When they have a chance to talk about who they are and what they really think, in the words of Gertrude Stein about Oakland, Calif., there’s no there there. For example, Hayden Christensen. Remember him, Anakin Skywalker? No? My point exactly.
There are exceptions, including Tom Hanks, Dame Helen Mirren, Emma Stone and Hugh Jackman, but generally the celebs are duds. Too many of the younger actors live in a PR-team-controlled bubble and won’t say enough to even let us find out if they might be interesting.
