Atlanta does have sound stages here (Tyler Perry Studios and Lakewood Studios and I think also in Henry County) ;D Thanks for the info. I was thinking that must be what the Altanta shoots will be...interiors on a sound stage. I imagine the weather will play a big role in how and when they shoot in Derby and Philly. Of course, I could be wrong about all of it, but those are my theories.

I was initially surprised about the choice of Atlanta because the setting is quintessentially New England. I even thought if they had the luxury of time, filming the movie during the fall season would have been so dramatic a setting!
Then I realized that most states now compete for filming location choice and offer many incentives. Remember how Real Steel was shot in Michigan due to tax incentives or something?
I guess when they move filming to Derby and maybe Philadelphia, it will be for outside shots and a closer fit to the story setting.
But it's good that the movie will be filmed in separate locations - it will give all three states a chance to share in the excitement of a local shoot ;D

It looks like PRISONERS filming has been moved to February, as of the latest production update -- www.myentertainmentworld.com/mew/film_production_P.3.htmlPRISONERS - February, 2013 - Philadelphia, PA & Derby, CT & Atlanta, GA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. STORY: After his 6 years old daughter is kidnapped, a small town carpenter butts heads with a young, brash detective in charge of the investigation. Feeling failed by the law, he captures the man he believes responsible, holding him captive in a desperate attempt to find out what he did with his daughter, whom he's convinced is still alive. (Posted: September 26, 2012. Revised: November 26, 2012)I think this is a more comfortable schedule for Hugh, as January might be taken up with more promotion for Les Miserables, if the Oscar buzz for the movie with the awards community continues. If he makes it as a nominee, the more he may need to be in Hollywood during that time Also, maybe the weather may have something to do with the slight delay? Jo

I think the tv series "The Walking Dead" is shot in the Atlanta area. "Post" (an industry magazine about post-production) had an article about the local audio services there and how good they are.

It looks like they have returned to a January filming schedule --
"PRISONERS - January 16, 2013 - Philadelphia, PA & Derby, CT & Atlanta, GA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. Revised: December 6, 2012) "
* I wonder if the return to an earlier period is parlty to clear Hugh's schedule for XMEN:Days of Future Past ( which is supposedly starting filming in April), assuming he is saying YES to that one ( although it is likely a much lesser involvement)
"X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST (aka UNTITLED X-MEN: FIRST CLASS SEQUEL PROJECT) - April, 2013 - Montreal, CA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. (Posted: February 1, 2012. Revised: December 6, 2012)"
*I've wondered why Hugh is not shaving again and thought he might be gearing up for another movie which requires facial hair?
*I've also noticed the flurry of casting calls for PRISONERS lately.

So the recent report that it was moved to February is wrong I guess. Should work out with still no time off the Hugh! Sue

The problem with Houdini is NOT Hugh -- it seems the creative team (Sorkin and Schwartz) are still a long way to go! Hugh has said himself in a recent interview that they are only halfway through. This is probably close to the last update where it was mentioned that a first act reading will be scheduled in January of 2013. Who knows how long the second act may take to develop, which can seem forever, especially for musicals! This project has been in the works for a few years now ( maybe 5?) and there has even been a change in the creative team ( composer, book writer, and lyricist).
I would not expect to see Hugh in Houdini in 2013! Maybe spring 2014 at the earliest? Just guessing of course.
I am hoping there would time for another movie after Days of Future Past.

*Slight delay to February, instead of January 16 ( weather-related? first reading for Houdini for the first act happening? any more promotion for Les Miserables re Oscar buzz?)
*It looks the Conneticut filming has been replaced with location filming in Philadelphia instead

Someone shares some news about the preparations in Conyers, Georgia for the forthcoming shoot of PRISONERS -- www.onlocationvacations.com/2013/01/10/prisoners-starring-hugh-jackman-and-jake-gyllenhaal-appears-to-be-setting-up-production-in-conyers-ga/--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ‘Prisoners’, starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, appears to be setting up production in Conyers, GA by Christine on January 10, 2013 · 0 comments in Atlanta, Daily Filming Locations, News Thanks to a few of our Twitter followers, we’ve learned there is a big production set up in Conyers, GA, which appears to be Prisoners, the upcoming movie starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. The production is set up at Ebenezer United Methodist in Conyers, there are also “To Set” and “Captive” signs pointing to a set in the Stanton Woods Subdivision. As we’ve reported, Prisoners is set to begin filming in Conyers on Jan. 16, so the timing would be right for them to begin prepping this week, not to mention the “Captive” signage around town would seem appropriate for a movie called Prisoners! If you have any scoop about the Conyers shoot, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com! Thanks to @__Rosalie___, @tphogg, and all of our tipsters! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is going to be a relatively short shoot -- and Hugh might have to interrupt his schedule to fly to LA for the BFCA, G'Day Australia and the Golden Globes this coming weekend, to London for the BAFTAs ( Feb 10?) and to LA for the SAG (Jan 27?) and the Oscars if he gets a nomination today! I wonder if the facial hair he seems to be growing lately is for this movie? Jo

Is this the look of Keller Dover in the movie? The goatee will differentiate his new movie look from Valjean's long beard and the iconic Wolverine look -- three movies that follow each other closely in the film release dates. Jo

That man grows facial hair like nothing I've ever seen. Wasn't it just the other day that he only had a little scruff and now he has a fully grown goatee? (Maybe he should compete in the World Beard and Mustache Competition. ) - Alicia

When I read the script a couple of years ago, I did not picture Keller with a beard of any kind. I think it somehow makes him look younger and also a bit more dangerous--a smart move, I'd say.

I've been wondering if the script has been changed just a bit.
I wonder how Hugh and Jake will hit it off in terms of screen chemistry. Jake looks more like the silent, not-so-talkative guy (Loki, the detective, sounds more like a bit of a loudmouth) ...Hugh can be anything.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
. . . . .
Just wondering --
Could Keller start as a clean-shaven, God-fearing, clean-living Dad but degenerates into the man who became single-minded and practically mentally- unhinged in his quest to find his daughter's kidnapper?? Hence maybe unkempt facial hair as he looks for and hounds the suspected kidnapper. Somewhat deranged ?? Maybe the hairstyle will be mussed up and he has the fierce look of a predator ??
LOL - I am anticipating again how the director is putting the film together. I am excited because this could be another role that could draw much artistic praise, if done exceptionally well.

Could very well be, Jo. Perhaps they are shooting later scenes first. I'm looking forward to this movie.

I wouldn't think that the facial hair has anything to do with that. Otherwise wouldn't it be a beard instead of a well groomed goatee? Seems more time consuming. Probably just his character choice.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT * * * * * * *
I have just re-read the script -- still a page turner, especially the last 20 pages or so :o
I spent more time studying the characters...and this is going to be different from other portayals by Hugh ( assuming they are going to be very faithful to the script).
The story spans maybe a week and a half and a bit longer. He could not have grown that amount of facial hair -- but the image of a goateed Keller especially at the beginning doesn't jell for me. His was a very straightforward character with a strong sense of values, occasionally warped they may be.
But I guess how he progresses in look will be part of the suspense.
As I said earlier, I have been studying the characters more closely -- esp Keller. Very different kind of film character for Hugh to portray. Unlike the villainy Wyatt Bose ( Deception), this guy is basically a clean-living, strong-values, Bible-thumping type of a father who looks after his family ( maybe a little paranoid - his basement speaks of that quirk), living in a typical town. A bit of a "Denny" there, although not so showy. How he becomes a little unhinged is the core of the story -- how he also became a prisoner of his own values ( Protect his own family at all costs!). I don't think it was sheer revenge which prompted his actions -- but he really wanted to find his daughter! But one scene there is really going to be hard to bear ( for me).
Very interesting characters, huh? Some possible Oscar baits??
I hope Hugh finds a different kind of acting challenge here -- he has often portrayed larger than life characters -- but this time, he is just a typical Dad, warts and all -- I wonder if the script will be further enhanced to play up the confrontations between Keller and Loki???
It is still heart-thumping!
