One of the best places to watch is Awards Circuit www.awardscircuit.com/oscar-predictions/ At the top of the page is a list of who is currently expected to take home the award in each category if Clayton Davis has made a prediction. Underneath are the categories. If you click on each one, it takes you to a page listing the current Contenders and In contention. These change as the months pass and the trailers and films appear. For instance if you click on Best Picture, Prisoners is listed as 37, but if you click on Lead Actor, Hugh is listed at 15. To the left of the main categories is a list of consensus predictions of several site editors that will sometimes be different from Clayton's making it fun to compare.

Thanks Sue. Dad got out of ICU after 2 nights, then went to a regular hospital floor for 2 nights. Now he is back at the Nursing Home/Rehab Center. We are just taking it one day at a time. I'm here until the 24th.

That looks like a fun site to keep an eye on so it's bookmarked! It's amazing that Hugh is considered #15 before he's even done anything this year. He may be finally getting the attention he's due! > :-/ Sue

This is the hairstyle (or lack of) that I love - totally natural. I am so over the gelled "up comb". Everyone is doing it - Hugh doesn't need it!

It looks like they are releasing the Formula One movie, RUSH, by Ron Howard ( with Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl), based on true life racing drivers and some tragic events, in the US on the same date as PRISONERS! www.youtube.com/watch?v=05rzPnZ6lxwThis is going to appeal to the male demographics -- I have already seen lengthy generally favorable reactions on the IMDB Movie Awards board ( some even speculating nominations ) and motorsports boards. While PRISONERS will also encompass a dramatic dark side (RUSH has deaths and near-deaths including the headline-blazing burning incident of Niki Lauda), it will probably have a wider audience appeal ( including the female demos). But RUSH will have spectacle and a huge worldwide sports genre fanbase ( supposedly second only to the Olympics as a TV event) on its side! Moi, included! Stars-wise -- Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Leo, Viola Davis, Paul Dano, Maria Bello, and Terence Howard have a much broader appeal. And if The Wolverine (July release) is successful at the box office and with critics, the regard for Hugh could spill over to Prisoners (September release)! I hope they come out with the first teaser/trailer for PRISONERS soon ( no later than June) to counteract the initial positive reaction to RUSH. And if it reaches any of the key festivals, hopefully, it can generate artistic and box office excitement! Jo

Entertainment Tonight showed some footage today of a scene being filmed for PRISONERS where "Keller" is pushing through a crowd of reporters to get to "Alex Jones"(Dano). They said tomorrow they are going behind the scenes for PRISONERS.

Hugh/Keller looked like in a berserker mood while charging against his suspected kidnapper! Later on, during the interview, Hugh said that to lose one's child through kidnapping would be a real nightmare to parents, giving as example how they were already panicking when they "missed" Oscar for only twenty minutes ( "which seemed like days").

Jo Was that the ET interview thing? And does anyone have a copy of it? I haven't done a thorough search online for that yet or for any Prisoners clips so I'll probably do that tomorrow. If anyone has any links, pix or videos that would be great though. Thanks! Sue

ET is replayed here a day later - so I was able to catch it. There was brief scene from the movie...and then Hugh was interviewed re the subject matter of the film.

It wasn't on where I am now (Cleveland, OH) because of the coverage of the Boston marathon bombings.

They didn't show the promised clips at the next ET -- instead there was more coverage of the Boston tragedy. But at CinemaCon ( formerly Showest, a convention of theatre distributors) -- there was a presentation of clips from PRISONERS. Thanks to an IMDB post -- www.shockya.com/news/2013/04/17/cinemacon-2013-warner-bros-bring-out-man-of-steel-pacific-rim-gravity-and-more/#ixzz2Qkmdr6vlSPOILER ALERT************SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT************SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT"Prisoners From there we jumped into a string of clips from Denis Villeneuve’s September 20th release, “Prisoners.” The material opened with Keller and Grace Dover (Hugh Jackman and Maria Bello) and their young daughter arriving at the Birch’s (Terrence Howard and Viola Davis) home for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s all fun-loving holiday cheer until they realize both of their daughters are missing. The fathers run out into the rain to look for them outside, but they’re nowhere to be found. Next we meet Jake Gyllenhaal’s Detective Loki. Bello weeps to him as she discusses the disappearance after which Jackman has his own one-on-one with Gyllenhaal during which his character appears even more unhinged than Bello’s. There’s some talk of Keller being a suspect himself, which absolutely sets him off. From there Loki criticizes him for essentially abandoning his wife, opting to drive around aimlessly rather than head home and get through this together. Even as Keller grows increasingly belligerent Loki continues to try to reason with him, but when Keller spits out missing children statistics that are so clearly not in his daughter’s favor, it’s impossible to overlook the severity of the situation. It’s a gut-wrenching scenario, but the big takeaway from the “Prisoners” footage is Jackman’s performance. Even while suggesting a degree of hysterical numbness, he manages to take Keller from concerned father to hopeless misery to a place where he almost seems jealous that Loki is the one with the power and capabilities to track down his daughter. Another link from IMDB, from CinemaBlend -- www.cinemablend.com/new/Gravity-300-Rise-An-Empire-We-re-Millers-More-Debut-Footage-CinemaCon-37010.htmlSPOILER ALERT*********SPOILER ALERT*********SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT*********SPOILER ALERT*********SPOILER ALERT***********SPOILER ALERT"Prisoners One of the biggest surprises of the presentation was the delivery of footage from Prisoners, the new drama from the acclaimed director Incendies, Denis Villeneuve. The film begins as two families (the couples played by Hugh Jackman and Maria Bello and Terrence Howard and Viola Davis) gather together for Thanksgiving, but are struck by tragedy when their respective daughters go missing after being spotted playing by an RV parked on the street. A big city detective (Jake Gyllenhaal) is called in to investigate the case, however, Jackman’s character, believing the police to be moving too slowly, decides to take matters into his own hands and get the little girls back. The movie seems to be taking aim at this year’s award season, with a prime September 20th release date already set, and from the looks of the footage alone it looks like it should have the drama and the performances to back it up. After the initial set up is shown, featuring a great tonal shift from fun family gathering to thrilling search for the girls, the reel had two heavily dramatic sequences that paired Bello and Jackman with Gyllenhaal, respectively. Bello’s scene has a tremendous emotional authenticity to it, as she asks the detective about his record solving cases and tearfully asks if he has any children of his own – a question that is met with a hard silence. By contrast, what makes Jackman’s scene so striking is the emotional weight of his anger. Set six days after the kidnapping, as the two men meet in a car to talk about the case, it’s clear that the father character is deeply disturbed by the lack of forward motion on the case and has apparently already gone out to conduct his own investigation, assaulting a possible witness/suspect in the process. The capper to the footage, however, was the eerie final shot, which featured an aerial shot of an RV peacefully driving down an open stretch of road. My recommendation? Keep an eye out for Prisoners." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow - both responses from the two film sites sound very impressed! Jo

I can't help but have high hopes for this one and especially for recognition of Hugh's excellence as a father driven to extremes.

Just checking the IMDB listing of cast and crew -- www.imdb.com/title/tt1392214/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast*It looks like they did have a good-sized budget given the size of the cast/crew. *There is a fairly big section of stunt drivers -- will there be exciting car chases? *Also, a stunt double ( not Taris) for Hugh is listed among the crew, together with the other stunt drivers. I remember that Hugh learned to do stunt driving for SWORDFISH - will that come in handy for some of the scenes in this movie? *I wonder if there will quite a few changes from the original script. I noticed a stunt double for Melissa Leo, who plays the aunt, Alice. Jo

For those who missed the interview of Hugh on ET and the shot of an angry Keller charging through reporters, it was on today's ET again with some extra footage from Prisoners. They also went into Hugh's diet of 6,000 calories for playing Wolverine again.

There was another clip - 5'29", but unfortunately it was no longer available right after I had seen it twice. It featured interviews with Hugh and Jake and some set scenes ( including one of Hugh and Terence putting up the additional leaf to the dining table, only for occasions like Thanksgiving - while their two children, who will become the subject of the hunt, looked on). The female interviewer seemed a little smitten with Hugh ( calling him "the perfect male specimen", to Hugh's somewhat discomfort - LOL!). Jake was wearing a buttoned up shirt, which didn't seem to be my idea of a local detective's uniform/getup ...but more importantly, he praised Hugh's focus when they need to start acting! PS: Hugh likes the name "Keller" Jo

Yes, someone was kind enough to upload it.
They also summarized the 5'12" interview on the ET site - the site is changing every now and then - maybe as other news/features come up.
